Marco Koegler is technical director for World of Warcraft.[1]

As technical director for World of Warcraft, Marco Koegler oversees the software development of the game client and servers on which the game is played, as well as the tools used to create the game’s content.
Koegler joined Blizzard Entertainment in May 2009 as a senior software engineer, and his responsibilities have included upgrading the water visuals for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, adding special effects such as sunshafts, and improving the lighting system for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. After the launch of Mists of Pandaria, he transitioned into the role of technical director. Prior to arriving at Blizzard, he worked as technical director for Crytek in Frankfurt, Germany.
In his spare time, Koegler enjoys traveling around the world and burning unfortunate heroes in the Scarlet Halls instance in Scarlet Monastery.[1]
