Notes

This ring's ability has a 30 minute cooldown from the moment it is used. Regardless of whether the shield holds, the cooldown will remain. The buff, like many item-granted abilities, is a magical effect and can be dispelled / cleansed (this includes Garr's Antimagic Pulse ability.)

While the bonus to mana regeneration provided by the ring's ability is incredible, the item's actual usefulness and practicality is cut short by by its downside: The player loses the mana regeneration once they take 500 damage and the shield fades. If the shield breaks in combat, the player will have a ring slot taken up by a null item and will be unable to switch rings until they leave combat. Basically, the player must avoid taking any damage to keep the regen intact.

With hindsight, not many encounters in large-scale raids will allow a player to go without taking any damage. Indeed, many boss fights where such regen would be desireable put players through some, if not heavy damage. However, some boss battles do allow a player to escape unscathed, allowing full use of this ring's incredible ability (ex: Chromaggus, Nefarian, Instructor Razuvious.)

As a damage shield, the ring is inferior to that of the Inv jewelry talisman 05 [Talisman of Arathor] / Defiler's Talisman due to its excessive cooldown timer.
