Elemental Overload causes a Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, or Lava Burst spell you cast to trigger a second, similar spell on the same target at no additional cost that causes 75% of normal damage and no threat.

Mastery: Elemental Overload is a passive shaman ability learned at level 80 for those with the elemental specialization. It gives a chance for elemental overload to occur; the overload causes [Lightning Bolt], [Chain Lightning], or [Lava Burst] to trigger a second similar spell on the same target at no cost that causes 75% of normal damage with no threat.

Patch changes

• Patch 4.0.6 (8-Feb-2011): Elemental Overload (Mastery) procs of Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning can now generate Rolling Thunder charges.
