Mechanical Dragonling is a trinket that summons a mechanical dragonling guardian pet. It requires engineering skill of at least 200 to use.

Mechanical Dragonling is created by engineers with a skill of 200.

The components are:

• 1x  [Bronze Framework]
• 4x  [Iron Strut]
• 4x  [Gyrochronatom]
• 2x  [Citrine]
• 1x  [Fused Wiring]

The recipe for this item is taught by [Schematic: Mechanical Dragonling]. This schematic is a limited sale recipe sold by Gnaz Blunderflame in Stranglethorn Vale.

Notes

The summoned dragon gains one level for every 5 points the user has in Engineering. So an engineer with Engineering 375 summons a level 75 dragonling. However, despite having an increase in attack power, its health points remain the same.

Using this item starts a 20 minute cooldown on this trinket, and a 1 minute cooldown on other guardian pet trinkets (such as the other mechanical dragonling type trinkets, Defender of the Timbermaw, etc). This means that there is still some value in keeping older dragonling trinkets after creating new ones.

As of Patch 2.4, the Engineering combat pets no longer scaled with the user's Engineering skill. A Mechanical Dragonling will always be a Level 40 creature. The cooldown was reduced from 60 minutes to 20 minutes as partial compensation.^[1]

As of Patch 2.4.3, these pets may once again scale with user's Engineering skill.^{[citation needed]}
