Melinda Hammond is a human female found within the cellar of the Allen Farmstead^{[29.1, 63]}

in Gilneas. During the confusion of the Forsaken invasion, she was separated from her children. The military, afraid for her safety, will not allow her to go search for them.

After players assist her in finding and rescuing her children, the Hammond family does make it to Keel Harbor safely. They end up traveling on the same boat as the players that rescued them, sailing away to the safety of Darnassus.
