The Monoliths were rune-inlaid stones in Ashenvale which warped the forest creatures into destructive, feral monsters in the official Blizzard scenario map for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne called "Monolith". The forest beings who were warped included dark trolls, satyrs, furbolgs, forest trolls, spiders, wolves and skinks. These forest creatures were powered by the monoliths and monolith shards which were both destroyed by the forces of humans, orcs, undead and night elves.
