- So strong are these lords of the battlefield, that a single well-aimed strike is all it takes to leave their foe clinging to life.
Mortal Strike is a significantly powerful attack in the Mortal Strike warrior's arsenal and is usually relied on as one of the top sources of this kind of warrior's DPS; it delivers potent burst damage along with a significant debuff that reduces the effect of all healing abilities on that target by half, for the duration of the debuff (10 seconds).

Talent improvement
Impale will increase the critical strike damage bonus of Mortal Strike by 20% from 100% to 120%.
Deep Wounds will leave your target with a bleed debuff, dealing 60% of your melee weapon's average damage over 12 sec.
Improved Mortal Strike will reduces the cooldown of your Mortal Strike ability by 1 sec and increases the damage it causes by 5%.
Notes
Useful in organized PvP to stop enemy healers from healing a target your group is attempting to focus fire on.
The healing reduction effect does not stack with Rogues' Wound Poison or with Hunters' Aimed Shot.
Requires a melee weapon equipped in the main hand.
Your Mortal Strike damage bonus depends on the rank of Mortal Strike you currently have. Currently, the highest rank gives a +210 damage bonus (without Improved Mortal Strike).
Base damage modified by +5% by a 4-piece set bonus from the warrior's Tier-6 set, Onslaught Battlegear.
Past changes
Mortal strike had its damage normalized.
- Bonus from attack power is calculated as followed: ATK_Power / 14 * weapon type multiplier
- Your weapon type multiplier, obviously, depends on your weapon type.
- All two-handers = 3.3
- All one-handers that are NOT daggers = 2.4
- Daggers = 1.7
Mortal Strike with one- and twohanded weapons
Your Mortal Strike will deal more damage when used in conjunction with a Twohander because it a) gets a higher attack power damage bonus (modifier 3.3 instead of 2.4) and b) the base weapon damage is higher than the one of a comparable onehand weapon. However this does not force you to choose a Fury build when dual wielding. A typical "season 1" character equipped with the S1 set, all non-set PvP epics, S1 weapons and adequate enchants/gems will suffer about 30% damage when changing from a Twohander to dual wield. This applies only to MS though. The total damage output besides MS is generally higher while dual wielding than with a Twohander.
