Mortal Strike is a significantly powerful attack in the Mortal Strike warrior's arsenal and is usually relied on as one of the top sources of this kind of warrior's DPS; it delivers potent burst damage along with a significant debuff that reduces the effect of all healing abilities on that target by half, for the duration of the debuff (10 seconds).
Mortal Strike is a 31-point (tier 7) Arms talent.

Talent improvementEdit
- Impale increases the critical strike damage bonus by 20% from 100% to 120%.
- Poleaxe Specialization increases the chance to crit and the critical strike damage while using an axe or a polearm.
- Deep Wounds leaves your target with a bleed debuff, dealing 48% of your melee weapon's average damage over 6 sec.
- Improved Mortal Strike reduces the cooldown of your Mortal Strike ability by 1 sec and increases the damage it causes by 10%.
- Juggernaut gives a 25% increased crit chance on the next Mortal Strike or Slam after using Charge
NotesEdit
Useful in organized PvP to stop enemy healers from healing a target your group is attempting to focus fire on.
The healing reduction effect does not stack with Rogues' Wound Poison, Fury Warriors Furious Attacks, or with Hunters' Aimed Shot, but it stacks with Unrelenting Assault debuff.
Requires a melee weapon equipped in the main hand.
Your Mortal Strike damage bonus depends on the rank of Mortal Strike you currently have. Currently, the highest rank gives a +380 damage bonus (without Improved Mortal Strike).
The 4-piece set bonus from the warrior's Tier-8.25 set, Conqueror's Siegebreaker Battlegear gives a 10% increased chance to crit with Mortal Strike and Bloodthirst.
Mortal Strike with one- and two-handed weapons Edit
Your Mortal Strike will deal more damage when used in conjunction with a Two-hander because it: a) gets a higher attack power damage bonus (modifier 3.3 instead of 2.4), and b) the base weapon damage is higher than the one of a comparable one-handed weapon.
Patch changesEdit
- Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): Now uses normalized attack power.
- Patch 1.2.0 (2004-12-18): Mortal Strike changed to deal weapon damage + a flat amount (85, 110, 135, 160) instead of percentage-based damage. Additional ranks available on Warrior trainers.
