The Mounts and Pets window was added with Patch 5.0.5 and has a button on the Micro Menu. This UI may have been in Patch 5.0.4, but the Pet Battle System portion of the Pet Journal was not enabled until the next patch release.

Press the button to toggle "info mode" on and off.
