These lashers have been mutated by pieces of the Exodar's power crystals. The crystal fell in the nearby Silverline Lake, poisoning the water table and getting to the lashers through their roots. The draenei at the Crash Site are currently looking for a solution to this problem (see quest  [3] Healing the Lake).
