"Named mob" refers to a unique mob that has an individual name (e.g., Vagash, Ol' Sooty, etc.) rather than the generic name for mobs of that type (e.g., Cave Yeti or Elder Black Bear).

Additional notes

• Most, if not all, hostile non-rare named creatures are involved with quests. An example is a mob named Sin'Dall, the final target of the Tiger Mastery chain of quests in Stranglethorn Vale.
• Named creatures that are rare mobs usually drop better loot than non-named creatures of the same level.
• Most named mobs are harder than "normal mobs", but easier than elite mobs.
