In early sketches of Azeroth, Northeron appeared to be within [[Quel'Thalas]], north of the eastern Lordaeron (Eastern Plaguelands), north of where Hinterlands is located. Its still possible that Northeron may possibly be subzone within the Aerie Peaks or The Hinterlands, or its unfinished zone of [[northern Lordaeron]]. Northeron may be short for '''north'''ern Lorda'''eron'''.

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

In early sketches of Azeroth, Northeron appeared to be within Quel'Thalas, north of eastern Lordaeron (Eastern Plaguelands), and north of where the Hinterlands are located. Its still possible that Northeron may be a subzone within the Aerie Peaks or The Hinterlands, but it may be the unfinished zone speculated to be called northern Lordaeron. Northeron may be short for northern Lordaeron, but the term Northeron predates World of Warcraft and northern Lordaeron being this zone (or even existing) is speculatory.
