Northrend Alchemy Research helps an Alchemist to discover new Alchemy recipes by using a large number of herbs collected in Northrend. It randomly creates 2-3 Elixirs or 2-4 Flasks, and discovers a new Alchemy recipe. The alchemy recipe discovered depends on your skill (higher skilled elixirs and flasks requires the alchemist to have an equal or higher skill).^{[citation needed]}

Patch changes

• Patch 3.0.8 (2009-01-20): Reduced the cooldown on Northrend Alchemy Research from 7 days to 3 days. 
  
• Patch 3.1.0 (14-Apr-2009): All recipes which produce flasks now produce twice as many flasks. In the case of Northrend Alchemy Research, this means that the range was doubled from 1-2 to 2-4.
