Exodus of the Horde was used as the game's demo of Warcraft III and called "Prologue". In the retail version of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, the last three missions were cut out and just the tutorial levels were left as the "Prologue campaign" — with the Introduction: The Prophecy and Cinematic: Thrall's Vision added — however, it was extended in the official "Custom campaign" in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne adding the last three missions back. Although the remaining missions were added in the Frozen Throne, the voice acting was removed.

This letter contains detailed orders to the Coilfang naga operating the Steamvaults. It warns of the arrival of Cenarion druids into the region and orders them to be slain on sight. The rate of water redirection from other lakes into Coilfang Reservoir is to be doubled. The orders bear the seal of the infamous Lady Vashj.
