This item starts the quest [48] Rescue OOX-09/HL!, part of the set of Oglethorpe's Homing Robots.

This is a random drop in the Hinterlands. It has been reported to drop from Vicious Owlbeasts 3.5% of the time, and about 0.5% of the time from the following:
- Saltwater Snapjaw
- Green Sludge, Jade Ooze
- Mangy Silvermane, Silvermane Wolf
- Witherbark Scalper
- Vilebranch Scalpers, Soothsayers, and Aman'zasi Guards
