Slay Maziel inside the Silverlight Cave in Deepholm.

Description

Maziel's journal chronicles a ritual of ascendancy that would transfigure his body to one of pure quicksilver.

The ritual would talke place in the cave near the Lower Silvermarsh, where Maziel would feed upon the mercurial oozes until achieving full strength.

Perhaps it is not too late to put an end to his madness.

Completion

You've disposed of an enemy before he could grow more powerful. By eliminating Maziel you've also ensured that his powers will not be used against the Earthen Ring.

Notes

Head to the northwest to enter the cave. Watch out for the Greater Quicksilver Oozes! Maziel, the Mercury Ascendant, can be found at the bottom of the cave at ^{[72.9, 62.0]}, already mostly transformed. A level 82 elemental, it has 89358 health and the following abilities:

• Melee — 2000-3000 on cloth
• Mercurial Absorbtion — Consumes a spell, absorbing its magic and using it against the caster. 1 sec cast, uninterruptible. It will gain a "Mercurial Absorbtion" buff. When hit with a spell while buffed, he will cast the same spell back at his primary target.
• Mercury Rain — Summons 86811 mercury droplets. 1.5 sec cast. Only 6 actually got summoned, however... They only have basic melee:
  • Melee — 200-280 on cloth

The quest completes automatically upon Maziel's death.
