Since the release of Cataclysm, they have changed in significant ways, must of which are only hinted at in the Patch Notes. When specific conditions are met, many of these rare creatures offer larger experience rewards. First, these experience rewards seem to be based upon the level of the creature, rather than the level of the character killing them. Like other mobs, the rewards are affected by rested and heirlooms. Finally, Blizzard has stated that many of them have better drops when vanquished. This means that it is possible to gain as much or more eerience from farming these rares than from PvP or questing, but in order for this to be benficial, one must know the exact locations of each for fast and efficient farming. |

Named Rares are rarely spawned creatures that appear in the World of Warcraft. Since the release of Cataclysm, they have changed in significant ways, must of which are only hinted at in the Patch Notes. When specific conditions are met, many of these rare creatures offer larger experience rewards. First, these experience rewards seem to be based upon the level of the creature, rather than the level of the character killing them. Like other mobs, the rewards are affected by rested and heirlooms. Finally, Blizzard has stated that many of them have better drops when vanquished. This means that it is possible to gain as much or more eerience from farming these rares than from PvP or questing, but in order for this to be benficial, one must know the exact locations of each for fast and efficient farming.
