Proto-drake mounts

Having a Proto-drake as a mount is a signature achievement. All proto-drake mounts require either luck or great effort to acquire. While some are "fast" (280% speed in the air), many are "extremely fast" (310% speed in the air).
All proto-drake mounts require level 70 with the riding skill artisan (300).
Fast Proto-drake mounts
These mounts are all difficult to acquire, and have a flight speed of 280%.
- The Time-Lost Proto-Drake is a drop from the rare mob by the same name.
- The Blue Proto-Drake is dropped - rarely - by Skadi the Ruthless.
- The Green Proto-Drake is a low-probability result from hatching a [Mysterious Egg] from The Oracles.
- The Red Proto-drake is gained by completing the
Glory of the Hero achievement.
Extremely fast Proto-drake mounts
Extremely fast Proto-drake mounts are all rewards for having completed a very difficult or arduous achievement. They all have a flight speed of 310%
- Violet Proto-drake - What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been
- Rusted Proto-drake - Glory of the Ulduar Raider (10 player).
- Ironbound Proto-drake - Glory of the Ulduar Raider (25 player).
Retired Proto-drake mounts
The following mounts were also rewards for completing achievements. Like the Amani War Bear, they were intended as exceptional rewards for players on the cutting edge. With the release of new content, the achievements became much easier to complete and thus less exceptional. To retain their rarity, on release of Patch 3.1.0 the achievements no longer awarded these mounts.
- Plagued Proto-drake - Glory of the Raider (10 player)
- Black Proto-drake - Glory of the Raider (25 player)
