PvP zone

PvP zones are zones either partially or totally devoted to PvP and have special rules and effects that are part of the honor system that allow players to gain honor and PvP rewards. Zones that are only partially involved in PvP are considered part of World PvP.

With the initial release of World of Warcraft, the following zones contained PvP aspects:

In The Burning Crusade Edit

TBC This section concerns content exclusive to The Burning Crusade.

Although not specifically devoted to PvP, the Hellfire Peninsula, Nagrand, Terokkar Forest (Bone Wastes) and Zangarmarsh could be considered "PvP zones" in that they contained subzones with PvP-specific rules and effects. Completing PvP specific quests and tasks earns special PvP tokens or allows the gathering of [Spirit Shards] as boss drops.

Hellfire Peninsula Edit

Nagrand Edit

Terokkar Forest Edit

Zangarmarsh Edit

In Wrath of the Lich King Edit

WotLK This section concerns content exclusive to Wrath of the Lich King.

The full PvP zone introduced in Wrath of the Lich King is a non-instanced PvP zone with Siege Weapons, destructible buildings, and multiple objectives with lasting effects. Players on non-PvP realms will automatically be flagged for PvP when entering this zone.[1]

The first zone of this type will be Lake Wintergrasp.

From 126. Re: Is world pvp completely dead? | 2007-10-15 17:41 by Nethaera:

The Lake Wintergrasp zone will be entirely PvP even on PvE realms, it will not be instanced and it will have sieging.

In Cataclysm Edit

Cataclysm This section concerns content exclusive to Cataclysm.
