Objectives Edit

Kill Obsidia.

Obsidia is one of the last mature dragons that can continue the black dragonflight bloodline. She must be killed.

If you succeed in killing her, you should inform Lirastrasza immediately of your victory. She's been fighting a long time to see this done.

At the opening of the battle, Obsidia is not pleased to see Baleflame:

Obsidia yells: Baleflame! Your tender flesh shall be an appropriate meal for my whelps!

She summons her whelps to aid her during the battle:

Obsidia yells: Come, my children! Awaken and feast upon their flesh!

Upon dying, Obsidia has only this to say:

Obsidia yells: No! My clutch is the last...! Father... I've failed you...

If Baleflame dies during the fight, she will respawn a short time later, so there is no need to abandon the quest.
If you do need to abandon the quest for whatever reason, Baleflame's respawn time is fairly short.
The best way to deal with the whelps she spawns is to run through the pools of lava she summons on the floor. It causes a moderate amount of damage, so long as you do not stand in them and only run through them.
Let Baleflame attack her first.
