This is the first quest in the Grey Iron Weapons quest chain,

resulting in a useful level-appropriate weapon for the young warrior, as well as training in [Defensive Stance] and a few related skills.

It starts by a referral from the warrior trainer in Kharanos.

Quest text

Hello, warrior! You show a lot of promise, but you still need to learn some tricks and Muren Stormpike is just the dwarf to teach you.

You can find Muren at the Hall of Arms in the Military Ward of Ironforge. Talk to him when you're ready to learn what it is to be a warrior.

Completion

Ah, <name>.  I heard the warriors of Dun Morogh bouncing your name around.  I hope you haven't spent all your time in the breweries!

This is a Warrior class-specific quest chain. While the final result is a useful level-appropriate weapon, the real prize comes early on in the form of learning [Defensive Stance] and a few related skills.

Grey Iron Weapons

• Muren Stormpike

Granis Swiftaxe, the warrior trainer in Kharanos (in Dun Morogh) asks you to go to Muren Stormpike to gain further training.

• Vejrek

You travel to Ironforge. When you talk to Muren, you find he wants you to prove that you can handle yourself before he is willing to teach you. For proof, he sets you against the toughest troll in the region: Vejrek.

It is no sure thing, but you do defeat the troll, and return with its head.

Muren fulfills his promise and teaches you a number of useful warrior techniques.

• Tormus Deepforge

Having taught you something about defensive maneuvers, Muren feels it is time to get you a new weapon, and sends you to Tormus Deepforge

• Ironband's Compound

You might have anticipated this... before Tormus makes a weapon for you, he wants you to to do a favor for him.

His mentor was slain by Dark Iron dwarves shortly after he received some strange ore. Tormus wants revenge upon the dark iron dwarves. Oh, and he wants that ore, as well.

You travel the frosted plains of Dun Morogh and find Ironband's Compound on the far side of Helm's Bed Lake. As advertised, there are plenty of Dark Iron dwarves in the neighborhood, and they like you about as well as you like them.

Within the compound itself, you dispatch their leader, Captain Beld, and retrieve the chest of Umbral Ore.

Tormus is happy to receive the ore, and grateful for your aid in revenging his mentor. After a short bout of blacksmithing, he produces an array of Grey Iron weaponry from the ore you supplied, and offers you a choice from among them.
