Taming the Beast (Tauren 1) is the second pet taming quest in the chain of three for hunters in the Tauren starting area of Mulgore. It has the hunter capture a Prairie Stalker for use as a pet.

Objectives Edit

Use the Taming Rod to tame a Prairie Stalker. Practice your skills, then return the Taming Rod to Yaw Sharpmane in Bloodhoof Village.

Description Edit

You have a fiery spirit, hunter, readily awaiting your next challenge.

Your next task is to gain the companionship of a wolf known as the prairie stalker. This creature is swift and fearless; in taking this beast as your pet, you must also take on these qualities.

During a battle, you will learn how you and your pet will become a team. In the end you must work as one, muscle to muscle.

Here is the taming rod, <name>. Tame a prairie stalker and practice your skills.
