Ratchet is the only port in the Barrens. Most likely
Velinde found a trading vessel in Ratchet to take her
to Blackwater Cove in Azeroth. We've had limited dealings with the
goblins that run the port, but the master of the dock should have information
about the comings and goings of ship passengers.
Follow the road southeast through Ashenvale and you will find yourself
in the Barrens. Watch your step, <name>, warriors of the Horde patrol
the land. You will be safe at the port, though.

<race>, eh? Must admit, we don't get much of your type out here. Looking for
someone, eh? Just give me a moment, I'm sure I have it written in one of my
ledgers.
Lot of people travel through here, though, so just give me a moment.
There are a couple of routes into The Barrens that the Alliance can
safely take.
First, you can follow the road from Ashenvale south past the
Silverwing Grove. This will take you to The Mor'shan Rampart, at
the very north end of The Barrens. You do not want to approach the
rampart directly, unless you are high enough level to avoid the guards.
There is an unguarded passage just to the east of the route the road takes
through the rampart. Much easier, and only a little bit off the road
itself.
Second, you go to the border between Ashenvale and Azshara, and swim
down the Southfury River to the waterfall where it empties out into
the ocean. (There is a flight point just inside Azshara, to the south
of the road, so this may be worthwhile just to tag the flight point.)
Third, you may be able to enter the Barrens via the entrance from
Stonetalon Mountains. This entails some risk, as avoiding the guards
there is harder than via the Rampart.
And Fourth, you can go to Booty Bay, and simply take the boat
to Ratchet, which is where you want to be in the first place. Note that
Stranglethorn Vale is a higher level zone, and there is some risk of
aggroing critters to the sides of the road.
Note that there is a flight point in Ratchet that you will want to tag, if
you haven't before.
And of course, Fifth, if you've been there before and tagged the aforementioned
flight point, simply fly there.
