Quest Text Edit

We need to discover the location of the Defias hideout. <name>, my scout reports that a Defias Messenger has been seen on the roads between Moonbrook, the Gold Coast Quarry and the Jangolode Mine. I want you to capture him. If he resists, kill him and bring me whatever he is carrying.

This is indeed firm proof that VanCleef is in charge. Now all we need to know is where the Defias gang is hiding out.

We've had a stroke of luck while you were gone. We captured a thief trying to steal Saldean's wagon. He has promised to lead us to the hideout in exchange for his life. I want you to defend the traitor so he can reveal the hideout. Return to me once you have uncovered the location.

Notes Edit

This is one of the more well known quests in Westfall, as the Defias Messenger can be a bit hard to track down. The usual method of catching him is to lurk near the east end of Moonbrook and wait for him to appear.

There's the easy way to do things, and the fun way. The messenger always chooses the fun way, so you get to knock him about. You will need to find a way to slow him down; when he is about to half health, he will start fleeing, and he flees fairly fast.

He will help (and be helped by) other Defias in the area, if a fight breaks out.

The mysterious message can be looted by each person in a group, so you can avoid extra waiting (or causing others to wait) by forming a group while waiting for the messenger to come by.
