You are attacked by a Forlorn Spirit once you accept this quest. You may have enough time to run out of the building, if you are quick. The spirit is not terribly powerful, but can curse you with the Curse of Stalvan, a 10 minute debuff that reduces all your attributes by 5. The spirit can also polymorph and fear your toon, so defeating it alone can be more challenging than expected.
