Objectives
Master Engineer Zinfizzlex wants you to bring him the following:
- 30 [Thorium Bar]
- 50 [Mithril Bar]
- 75 [Iron Bar]
- 1 [Steamsaw]
Description
I'm as anxious as you are to try out my portable shredder unit, <race>, but before I can make the kit, I'm going to need materials - lots of materials!
To be exact, I'm going to need a mountain of thorium, mithril, and iron. I will also need one steamsaw per unit. You'll have to get those at the lumber mill.
When I was nosing around in here (before my capture) I noticed a pile of steamsaws at the Stormpike lumber camp.

Notes
(NOTE: Many people have noted that this quest has been missing from Alterac Valley since patch 1.10. Any information on this would be appreciated.)
Like many quests in Alterac Valley, this quest is only available provided the NPC is rescued and escorted back to a team's base. In this case, it's goblin engineer Zinfizzlex. Zinfizzlex is found initially at the Frostwolf Graveyard.
The first 3 items have to be obtained from outside of Alterac Valley, and since you never know if Zinfizzlex is going to be in your camp, you may be carrying these around for a while.
The steamsaw can only be found in Alterac Valley.
- Horde players can find the steamsaw in the main building at the Stormpike Lumber mill, which on the east side of the road, north of the Stonehearth graveyard and south of Stormpike graveyard.
- Alliance players can find the steamsaw in the small lumber camp near the Iceblood graveyard.
The reward for the quest -- the Portable Shredder Unit -- allows the player to control a level 60 elite goblin shredder machine. It looks just like the ones you may have seen The Deadmines or the Windshear Crag area of the Stonetalon Peak zone; however, it's obviously much more powerful.
The Portable Shredder Unit has a 45 minute cooldown. Also, it only exists for 3 days (that's 3 days of /played time). After that, it will disappear from the player's inventory.
