Chief Rageclaw had him since he was a pup as a gift from his brother-in-law. Later, when Rageclaw had been trading with the Drakuru trolls, the trolls first attacked Rageclaw, then Ragemane, which apparently drove him insane. Rageclaw asks adventurers to kill Ragemane and bring back his flipper as proof.
