In World of Warcraft, rank can mean a few things:

The relative effectiveness or level of a spell compared to a spell of the same type.
For example, comparing two ranks of the Priest spell, Lesser Heal:
Lesser Heal, Rank 2: Heal your target for 71 to 85.

Lesser Heal, Rank 3: Heal your target for 135 to 157.
Your position in the military hierarchy of your faction. See the Honor System page for details.

Your position and assigned privileges within a guild hierarchy.
