Without the dropdown box listing the file type, it is possible that you could (for instance) save a file with the .png extension, but with the .jpg format. I don't know what you use, Theras, so I can't say. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 20:27, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Image renaming

Rather than making a talk page asking for a rename, which will most often go unnoticed. Just use the {{move}} template, you don't have to provide the new name if you don't want to, but at least it will be thrown in category for it to get noticed. Sssssssssssssssssssssssss For Pony! Move tags

I'd like to thank you for using the move template over just uploading duplicate images and marking the old with a speedydelete, however, could you do a favor for me and instead of doing {{Move|"Melika Isenstrider"}}, just leave the quotes out and make it {{Move|Melika Isenstrider}} or even {{Move|File:Melika Isenstrider.jpg}}. It's a "feature" of AWB (which it shouldn't be), so as to generate consistent categorizing for articles with lowercase letters in their name. I'm going to likely file a request to remove that in general fixes. :| --Sky (t · c · w) 15:38, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

The edits with the exclamation are unpatrolled. Sadly, walked into a Dead-magic zone with all my wands. Hmm, seems work best suited for a bot, but so are many things. I don't know a thing about bots, only programmed my calculator once, but it should be possible to make something "if quality=something" - "add Category:this and that". Although,... Only bot I have is my own wetware. I'm aware of AWB (I think those are the initials, but...), but it's not something I can run from this computer. As long as I concentrate on just changing the categories, double-click word selection, and "line select from end of one line to end of another" get most of the work done, thus my speed. Unused Redirects

Afaik, mediawiki still doesn't track transclusions when seeing if redirects are in use. Many of the redirects you've deleted from my old userspace were actually still in use, as plenty of pages are still linking back to the old user space versions and being redirected to the new one -- namely templates. Cool, i'll help out and mark up any double/triple/redundent redirects i spot with sd's.

In my past yes. Much of it is outdated, and changes to mediawiki -- much of it courtesy of wikia -- has opened new doors. Things never really got anywhere though, and due to a number of incidents i decided the bad reactions i was recieving on a more and more frequent basis wasn't worth trying to help improve wiki anymore. I'm now very much removed from WoWWiki development and policy and only come to check info, correct info i was looking at, update the new info or simply revert stuff. RE: Unconsolidated fanfic pages

Extremely short pages should be consolidated regardless of if they are fan fiction or not, ideally. As redirects are not allowed in the user namespace, the links to the former separate pages would have to be replaced with something like [[Consolidated page#Section that was once a page|Section name]], or be left dead. I, however, hate dead links. If a user is not maintaining their pages enough to fix the dead links themselves, I do not know what to do. The consolidator would be left to clean up, or just let the pages decay. If the pages will just decay, is it worth it to consolidate the seemingly abandoned user pages? There is no rule (that I recall, one may exist) that says that "abandoned" user pages should be deleted, even though some get deleted anyway. If there was a rule like that, few user pages would exist. It is not cruel to consolidate, but I have mixed feelings on just outright deleting them.--SWM2448 22:33, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

We currently have no policy stating a page must be maintained to remain undeleted... though if policy or such is wanted to be placed stating something along the lines of "user hasn't been active for so many years that all subpages should be deleted", then I'd say go ahead and discuss this on the forum. Or something in between; "user hasn't been active for (5-10, too much?) years that all subpages should be deleted" and "fantic pages should contain This and That and a Couple of Those, to avoid this rule." + (don't create a page with a few lines which can as easily be described on the mainpage from which it would be linked). Naming Images

Can you please tell me why it is so important to rename all files with space, proper case and no apostrophes? I'm not trying to insult you because I appreciate all the hard work but it all seems a little trivial and very anal retentive, not to mention an easy way to increase your edit score. I'm at an impasse. I only have so many hours in the day. I try my best to follow available Wiki templates but honestly this is where I draw the line. I'm more than happy to defer files renaming to you as you see fit. To the point, I don't know how long beta will last. I really don't want to spend my time making sure something as trivial as file names are "correctly" named (and as far as I’m concerned it is a trivial matter). So here’s my trade offer. I'll continue to post new Cataclysm information using the available wiki templates and you can continue to edit the file name as you see fit. If this cooperation isn't optimum then I'll just pass. I couldn't care less if I add information about Cataclysm to this site. I do it out of a courtesy to the WOW fan base. I also don’t care about edit points. Includes in faction disambiguated quest

Please do not put <onlyinclude> in quests that have a Horde and Alliance version - {{Faction disambiguation}} transcludes the quest pages which means that any <onlyinclude> will break how it looks.
