Rockard

From WoWWiki

This article contains lore taken from Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, its manual, and official bonus maps.

Rockard was a base next to Stonard, the sister towns were the last defense before Blackrock Spire during the First War. The humans of [[[Azeroth (kingdom)|Azeroth]] made a plan to destroy Blackrock Spire, they attacked and destroyed both Rockard and Stonard.[1] However they didn't manage to destroy Blackrock Spire and were defeated by the Horde.[2]

Although Stonard was reconstructed, Rockard doesn't appear in World of Warcraft.

Minimap of the mission.

In World of Warcraft?

It may be one of the two Lost One outposts, the Harborage or the Fallow Sanctuary.

In World of Warcraft, there are orcish ruins directly south of Nethergarde Keep in the Blasted Lands that may be the remains of Rockard. When the Dark Portal was first opened, the entire area was considered the Black Morass, so it is possible for the remnants of Rockard to exist close to the border of the Swamp of Sorrows, and is still in close proximity to Stonard. Currently, cultists occupy the area, however, players can clearly see orcish ruins in the area (towers, buildings, and a mine).

Other explanation for Warcraft I

Rockard may have been the outpost destroyed by Doomhammer in the mission Blackhand, giving a reason why it was never rebuilt.
