The Ruins of Lordaeron arena is located in the Ruins of Lordaeron, which is a subzone above the Undercity. The arena was added in patch 2.1.0 and was the first arena to be added through a patch (the second being Tiger's Peak).

Arena layout[]

Although very similar in appearance to the Ruins of Lordaeron in the outdoor world, the arena version has some notable differences. In the outdoor world, one end leads out to Tirisfal Glades and the other leads into the throne room. In the arena version, however, both ends are symmetrical staging areas. Also in the arena version, there is no bridge (with sewer water below) leading into the throne room, and there are no stairs on either side of the arena. Due to these differences, the arena is basically flat.

In the middle of the arena, there is a tomb that can be used to block LoS and to get high ground advantage. There are also various tombstones that can be used to LoS as well.

Strategies[]

Ruins of Lordaeron Arena

Inside the arena.

  • Hiding in the starting area and waiting for the enemies to attack can provide advantages especially to melee classes.
  • Healers or casters would like to stand on top of the middle tomb.

Notes[]

  • Despite being set within the Ruins of Lordaeron City, which is in Tirisfal Glades, part of the backdrop of the arena is actually Silverpine Forest. This is because the backdrop of the arena is actually two sliced out portions of southern Silverpine and northern Tirisfal Glades, with the arena sitting right where the two portions are stitched together. Pyrewood Village's classic version and Shadowfang Keep can be seen just over one portion of the arena's walls, while opposite area is actually the area around Agamand Mills but retextured to match the Silverpine portion.[1]
  • Three "Lordaeron Citizens (Jesse)" are found in the arena.

Patch changes[]

  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04):
    • Alcoves have been removed from the starting chambers.
    • Two line-of-sight tombstones have been added to the slime pool on the southern side of the map.
    • The collision around the central tomb has been smoothed out to prevent players from becoming stuck on the terrain as often.
  • Bc icon Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Added.
