Rulesets are sets of rules or game mechanics that constrain, direct, and operate within a game.
World of Warcraft has four types of rulesets that apply to various servers (or realms). They are predefined for each server. The game contents are all the same.
- PvE (Player versus Environment) require you to flag yourself to engage in PvP combat.
- PvP (Player versus Player) makes you always flagged when in contested or enemy zones.
- RP (Role-Playing) is a PvE subset that promotes roleplaying and limits out of character conversation for a more immersive experience.
- RPPvP is the PvP version of the RP subset.
