Saurfang the Younger in Outland

Saurfang the Younger first appears in Nagrand.

Following a Murkblood raid, a group of adolescent orcs from Garadar formed a war party and set out to seek vengeance. They reached Sunspring Post, but most of them were killed by the Broken.

Saurfang was one of the few survivors of that party - he sustained severe injuries and narrowly escaped.

Saurfang the Younger in Northrend

Saurfang the Younger[41, 18] also appears in Northrend in the expansion Wrath of the Lich King, alongside the Warsong Offensive. He is in command of the Kor'kron Vanguard, the fortress at the base of Angrathar the Wrathgate. He also appears to have inherited the arms of his father, High Overlord Saurfang: "My father has gifted me with his battle armor and axe. Soon I put it to good use."

During the battle for the Wrathgate, Saurfang the Younger falls to the Lich King, his soul claimed by Frostmourne, moments before Grand Apothecary Putress unleashes his new Plague on the battlefield. After the Wrathgate chain, players are asked by Alexstrasza to retrieve his shattered armor and deliver it to his father.

Turned Champion

One of the visions in the Yogg-Saron encounter shows the Lich King, an "Immolated Champion" and a "Turned Champion". Showing the Immolated Champion in a model viewer, it seems like it would be Bolvar Fordragon, while the Turned Champion is Saurfang in death knight armor. At Blizzcon, it was confirmed he will be a raid boss in Icecrown Citadel.

From worldofraids.com live blog, day 2: Saurfang will likely be an encounter in Icecrown, as will Bolvar. We asked what happened to Bolvar at the fansite summit and one of the gameplay programmers grinned and said "well, his body isn't there, right?"

The Deathbringer

Blizzard has confirmed that "the Deathbringer", described as the Lich King's most powerful death knight, is in fact Saurfang the Younger, as referenced on the testing schedule for the PTR in the second week of November.[2]
