Introduced with the Mists of Pandaria expansion, Scenarios are short instances consisting of a series of tasks that can be completed by groups of players smaller than 5 for rewards better than individual quests.^[2] Currently they may operate like small instances, but as with everything in an upcoming expansion, things may change. As with dungeons, they will be tied into a queuing system, but there will be no defined roles, so queues should be short.

As of the March 2012 press event developers said they have about 5 scenarios "close to completion" and will add more before launch.^[3]

In late Nov 2011, a Community Manager gave a short description:^[4]

Basic scenario Edit

A simple example scenario could take place in an instanced portion of Goldshire where low level players would have to kill 25 kobolds as a group, help retrieve four village children, and finally kill  Goldtooth.^[2] Unlike shared quests, all participants would start at the same place in the scenario and would need to complete it together.

PvE Battleground Edit

Another use of scenarios would be to create a sort-of "PvE Battleground" where players would only fight NPCs in similar situations as would occur in a PvP battleground. As an example, Alliance players could be required to kill 25 Horde NPCs, destroy 6 towers and barracks, and finally kill the scenario boss, "General Drake."^[2]

Alcaz Island Edit

MMO Champion found that Alcaz Island has some setup for a scenario involving the Twilight's Hammer.^[5]

Lightning Lager Edit

Lightning Lager is a scenario started from a wandering pandaren only available during nighttime and raining in a certain area shown during the March 2012 press event.^[3]

• You repel invaders of a brewery camp.
• Push your way through their lines to a temple at the bottom of the hill.
• Defeat the boss at the temple.

Valley of Power Edit

Found in Wowhead,^[6] but no details as of yet. Strangely shares the name of the placeholder version ("Valley of Power") of Temple of Kotmogu battleground in Beta, so may occur nearby.

Beta list Edit

MMO Champion has data-mined a list of scenarios in first Beta as of March 24th, 2012^[7] and Wowhead is continually updating their Beta DB:

• A Brewing Storm^[8] - Located around Thunderpaw Overlook and Thunderpaw Refuge in the Jade Forest.
• Arena of Annihilation^[9] - Located at the Arena of Annihilation. Also previously called "Proving Grounds".^[10]
• Assault on Zan'vess^[8] - Sometime called "Tyri'vess" scenario.^[11][12] Zan'vess is a strategic town on the island of Tyri'vess?
• The Battle For Theramore - Alliance^[7] or Theramore^[9]
• The Battle For Theramore - Horde^[7] or Theramore's Fall^[9]
• Big Beach Brew Bash^[8] - Located south of Unga Ingoo on an island off the coast of the Krasarang Wilds.
• Black Ox Temple^[13][14][15]
• Brewmaster 04^[16]
• Brewmoon Festival^[17] - Located around Binan Village.^[8] May have been called "Kun-Lai Pass" at some point in the beta.^[18][17]

• Burgled Brew^[9]
• Crypt of Forgotten Kings^[19]
• Greenstone Village^[20] - Located somewhere in the Jade Forest at Greenstone Village.
• Klaxxi Island^[16] (Klaxxi'vess?)
• Lightning Lager^[20]

• Panda Fishing Village^[7]
• Peak of Serenity^[20][8] - Located on Kun-Lai Summit.
• Siege of Niuzao Temple^[22] (name may change thru Beta) - Mantid are sieging Niuzao Temple.
• Temple of Kotmogu^[8][9] - Located in the Valley of Power. Incorrectly called "Temple of Katmogu".^[20]
• Unga Ingoo^[20] - Located on the northern central coast of an island^[8] off the coast of the Krasarang Wilds.

Notes Edit

• Players will need to be in the general area where the scenario takes place to queue for it.^[23]
• The group size is intended to be 2-3 players without the need for a healer or tank.^[23]
