Arena Season 5 began on December 16th, 2008[1] and closed on April 14th, 2009.

With the release of Season 5, level 70 players are still be able to engage in rated and non-rated arena matches against other level 70 opponents, but are unable to gain end-of-season rewards by doing so. Season 5 also released the two new skirmish brackets (71-75, 76-80).[2]
