Serpent

A cobra-like snake that comes in a variety of colors. They are good swimmers and attack with their fangs and Poison Spit. Serpents are found in the Wailing Caverns, Zul'Gurub, Zul'Farrak, the Sunken Temple, and Shadowmoon Valley.
Serpents were not normally tamable for a long time. The Sandfury Guardian was briefly tamable as a bug (classified as a wind serpent). However, the family was rendered tamable with Patch 2.0.

As a Hunter Pet
Once popular shortly before the release of the Burning Crusade for their intimidating appearance and novelty. Their Poison Spit, if not carefully managed, easily disrupts crowd control.
