Alliance progression had always been spotty as Anub'arak as it is a low population server, and horde have outnumbered alliance by 3:1 by some counts for years. The two guilds in Hyjal and Black temple recently (as of August 3rd) have either transferred or disbanded; Epinicion had most of its guild bank stolen, and broke morale to the point where they transferred in hopes of raiding somewhere else. Skyfang had been doing well, getting an alliance first kill in late June or early July, but too many of the core healers stopped logging on for raids, and the guild leader called an end to skyfang, at least until Wolk. Most of the core raiders of Skyfang formed a new guild called Outbreak, and picked up a few of the remaining decent players on the server in hopes of continuing to raid.

And then there was Light
Anub'arak was opened on August 21st 2006. This was one of many servers opened 5 months prior to TBC release.
The early days
Anub'arak showed a lot of promise early on in its history with Chilltown tearing through pre-BC content. They completed ZG before the first 60's came up on the Horde side. This of course prompted a snappy response from the Horde discrediting all Alliance as power levellers. By the time the first horde were clearing MC, Chilltown had cleared BWL. They also went on to clear several bosses in Naxx, without ever setting foot in AQ. Chilltown eventually fell apart due to lack of raid attendance.
The opening of the gates
The gates were opened by a hunter from the guild Prey, on the horde side, 2 weeks prior to TBC. Alliance blame the horde entirely for not turning in items for the war effort. Prey and Timeless are often considered the primary reason of why this happened as they would often post on how Chilltown would never progress beyond BWL.
What to expect?
Most people say Anub is dying. The low population is killing the server, but most people believe it would be stopped if people stopped transferring away.
The Horde-Alliance ratio on this server is extremely unbalanced, an estimate is every three Horde is one Alliance.
This could eventually lead to the server failing altogether, and because of intervention by Blizzard, save it completely.
Because it is a PVP server, the lack of Alliance severly hurts the PVPing aspect for the Horde, and lately causing many of them to transfer. Eventually they will be balanced and will become a low pop server. Blizzard may have to merge to save the server.
Horde Review
Anub'arak is a great server for Horde players whether you're just starting out or a retired veteran. We're a friendly community and the occasional jerk you do run into will no doubt be castrated, killed, resurrected, burned, tarred, feathered, and poisoned minutes after giving you crap. That we can guarantee. We may like to joke, but we pride ourselves in burning burners. Anywho, here's the 411:
Gold Inflation: Extremely low.
-This is great for anyone transfering between servers. You may have been poor on your old server, but you're probably rich on ours. This is also great for newbies who can get more bang for their buck.
Population Size: Low as of 7/8/07.
Guild Density: A lot of lowbie guild and leveling guilds as well as a decent number of end-game guilds.
-99.5% have tabards and many also have websites. Also, the higher level guilds who specialize in lvl 40 or up usually have vent. We also have about a dozen or so end-game guilds who have all of the above.

-WSG: Less than 5 minutes.
-AB: Less than 5 minutes.
-AV: Less than 3 minutes.
-EOS: Less than 5 minues.
That concludes my review which I will try to update as best I can when I can. Anyone else who is from Anub'arak (especially if you're alliance so we can get even footing) I strongly encourage you to edit/add something to this review. Much obliged!
