Auchindoun is a European PvP server released along with the others that arrived around the time that 'The Burning Crusade' expansion was released. It is a fairly small server with about a 60:40 horde majority, but anyone willing to try hard and find a good guild may prosper as either faction. The population on the realm is not very high, around 5000 characters according to WarcraftRealms and similar sites, but activity is high and you usually run into lot's of people, also when levelling, as it's still a relatively young and recommended server.
The War effort on Auchindoun was started on April 29th and finished on October 17th.
The gates were opened on October 30th by Bronte after having used Payed Character Transfer to arrive on the server that day, with the scepter. This sparked some controversy, as several people on the server were also trying to complete it.
A Pre-TBC Guild
For some time a group of players have been struggling to push forward in a non-TBC orientated style. All the guild members have non-TBC enabled accounts and are capped at L60. While the guild is in its infacy at the time of writing (3/3/08) they have great expectations. Their name "Reflection" Their website: http://reflectioneu.com
