Blood Furnace US (PvP)

The Blood Furnace PvP server was born January 17, 2007, coinciding with the release of The Burning Crusade Expansion. The realm was named after the second wing of Hellfire Citadel, where the blood of imprisoned Magtheridon is used to manufacture legions of Fel Orcs for Illidan Stormrage, the self-proclaimed ruler of Outland.

Blood Furnace was originally assigned to the Cataclysm Battlegroup along with several other new realms. On June 19, 2007, however, Cataclysm was merged with the realms of the Frenzy Battlegroup and renamed Retaliation. The Alliance players on Blood Furnace are vastly outnumbered by the Horde. Most of the Alliance players left on Blood Furnace exclusively PvP or are just casual players. Progression on the Horde side is dominated by the predominantly Chinese guild <Shatter>. The rest of the Horde players either PvP exclusively, only run 10 man raids, or are simply trolls. The servers forums and the Horde's trade chat are polluted by a group of trolls that constantly flood the server with mindless argument antagonizing nonsense. This group uses bots to become the raid leader in Wintergrasp so they can remove everyone from the raid and to create multiple trial accounts to pester and spam anyone who argues with them.
