Throgonn the hunter is fairly ignorant, even for an orc. One might even go so far as to say he's dumb by ogre standards, but he has his faint traces of intelligence left. He's very laid back, for both an orc and a hunter, and can be easily manipulated from time to time. There was a rumor that he was a former soldier in a few of the wars, but nothing has been confirmed. His past is mostly unknown, but what is known was that he was, on one occasion, chased by an angry warlock and a succubus, and enslaved by a gnome warlock for a short time, in which he was sent into Orgrimmar to spy on Thrall, which didn't exactly work as his usual small-mindedness overcame the warlocks commands... somehow.
He stumbled through his training in the Valley of Trials and was just able to be considered worthy, and not get killed. Since then, he has trained tirelessly, moving from the Valley to Sen'Jin village, and later left with with a terrible headache and a drunkenness of massive proportions (which he happened to get from the local witch-doctor in training.) Since then, he has surprisingly found his way into Alliance territory, and still tirelessly trains at the edge of Elwynn forest.
He's unintelligent, but determined and hardheaded. On his first visit to Orgrimmar, he saw a Blood Elf, mounted upon a hawkstrider. Because of the color of the hawkstrider, Throgonn called it a 'chocobirdy' and since then has, when he isn't training, been on a tireless quest and search for the source of these 'chocobirdies.' He has yet to look in Silvermoon City. He is still a powerful hunter, and hopes he will be able to tame creatures one day "maybe me even get pet chocobirdy!" in his own words.
However, recently, he's gained quite a bit of intellgence. He is devious, a tactical mastermind at times, and he seems a little less peaceful. He speaks with correct grammar, and is no longer as easily manipulated.
