General Information

Darkspear is a friendly realm, though often prone to controversy (on the forums) that has led to it being nicknamed 'Dramaspear'. The forums are well populated and usually have a few interesting threads. Darkspear has become a realm that has a lot of interesting characters and where Orgrimmar, Ironforge and Stormwind have become a place of laughter and fun, with the favorite gathering places for both factions being outside the bank and auction house. Alliance outnumber the Horde greatly, the ratio is around 5:1. Even so, Horde put up a good fight and generally dominate organised PvP, such as Battlegrounds, though Alliance tend to have an advantage in World PvP such as Halaa and City Raids. Horde and Alliance seem to cope very well and tend to meet each other in Orgrimmar, Ironforge, etc without killing each other.

PvE progression on the realm advances steadily, primarily with Deus, Cookie, Out of Order and Exitium on Alliance, and Play Out, Club Drama (disbanded), Cooldown (changed server) on Horde. Play Out got the server first kill of Illidan, with Club Drama downing him a few days later. Many other Alliance and Horde guilds have taken advantage of the attunement removal from 2.4 to register many kills in Tier 6 content. The server also has many relaxed raiding guilds that have made steady progress like Vesper, Fleurs de Mal, Lords of Light, Gwardia Polska, Dungeon Raiders, Deathsworn and the reformed The Increment. The oldest guild of Darkspear is Alliance guild Cookie as it was created just a week after the realm was opened and has since been amongst the top raiding guilds.

There are many Karazhan raiding guilds, especially on Alliance. This makes it very easy for the average level 70 to get into raiding. There is plenty of scope for players in all Tier content from Tier 4 up to Tier 6, most of the guilds tend to be more relaxed about their raiding and believe friendship is more important than progress in WoW. At the same time, older guilds have disbanded or transferred. The most recent losses include Random Violence, Demise and Brigada; all of which were top Alliance guilds. Cooldown, a much progressed Horde guild has changed server.

On a side note the Ahn'Qiraj gates have been opened by Gargulaz of the Alliance but few guilds venture there, as most players have The Burning Crusade.
