Detheroc is a Player versus Player (PVP) Server in the Central United States.

According to the Official Server Status page, the realm is of a Medium population.

Detheroc

Detheroc as seen in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

The namesake for our realm is the dreadlord Detheroc. Detheroc is a dreadlord in service of the Burning Legion. After Arthas left Lordaeron, Detheroc and his brothers, Balnazaar and Varimathras, were left to control Lordaeron. Sylvanas turned Varimathras to her side and proceeded to pursue Detheroc. During the battle, Sylvanas' forces killed Detheroc; however it is unknown as to whether or not Detheroc is actually dead, due to the nature of Dreadlords.

History[]

Detheroc is noted by many for its diverse population of forum trolls. Different from most servers due to the "troll on your main" mentality of the players, these trolls are not afraid to reveal their in game identity or irl identity, posting contact information and pictures of what they look like.

Most noted trolling is done by the Troll Force, a congregation of trolls that are usually seen all in the same thread. Members include Boomhauer (Detheroc's most adorable nub), Buffalodan(Almost as slow to hit 60 as Boomhauer), Shamanatrix (Founder of Valen, Winner of the Staghelm/Detheroc forum war), Mortaak (The only homosexual Male Night Elf), Towner (Extreme Poster Extraordinaire), Doublecross (A legend of making unsuspecting players walk into doors) and most recently, Pyromaniac (Now known as Pyrowned, the master of sucking up to Sham). Not alone, many other trolls are to be found along side of these characters;:Team Hunter, Peebo the Gnome, Ghando, Kren (also known as Decibus), Listentome, Maevara, Solitear, Reese, and Buffalina.

These trolls know no faction aside from the pride of their sever, taking wars to other realm boards and trolling their threads. Much to the enjoyment of onlookers, the level 1 alts of other boards are never a match for these players, and eventually the trolls of Detheroc leave the server, much like a drunken college student runs out of the room of a fat chick the following morning. Knowing no bounds, these trolls jump to General Boards and Class Boards to take their skills farther. Being banned several times across several accounts, a few of these trolls find it hilarious to grab a new account and fight.

--- Peebo wuz here.

Every month, this army of fine trolls keeps their psyche combat-ready with a large-scale forum invasion of the lesser-realm Staghelm.

As of recently though, the forum troll army of the past has diminished. There are few that remain from the days before TBC. The trolls these days to watch out for: Twentythree - Known for his witty humor and stupidity all in the same sentence; Dangitsmcg - Quite possibly the most annoying troll Detheroc has known, posting random babble on threads; Nicrosrogue - Known for his friendly chatter; Mortaak - A surviving legend; Angmew - The master of showing you up; Kandin - Everyone loves him, everyone hates him; Towner - Another legend; Sham - The one and only, a god among forum trolls. Lunchboxx- Always has something to say about anything, at times makes no sense but funny none the less Fritoss-One of the newer trolls to Detheroc. Tibeticus - Been trolling the forums for way too long now -_- No doubt you will see at least one of these names on your post.

Detheroc-Staghelm War II[]

The first Detheroc-Staghelm War was a landslide. The day was won when Shamanatrix, Boomhauer, Pyromaniac and many others saved the Detheroc Forums from the taint that is Staghelm. Than, it began again.

This time, Detheroc struck first. With a massive invasion, which was the brainchild of Fyodora, many pure-bred Detherocian Forum Trolls attacked the Staghelm forums, and, eventually, claimed it as their own. The War was fierce, and the invasion was massive. Trolls from all over the server of Detheroc took up arms, and keyboards, to attack the Staghelm message boards. In the end, Staghelm began to bend, and the only way they drove the Detherocians away from the forums was to ally with the dreaded Game Masters. Detheroc prevailed in the end, when it was finally two to one, and the mighty Gods of the Forums were forced to magically drive the immense army away from the Staghelm forums.

The following Forum Trolls of Detheroc receive recognition for leading the assault upon the Staghelm Forums. They have taken up the arms in the absence of the other old-school trolls.: Fyodora, for creating the idea of the second coming of the Staghelm invasion. Shamanatrix, for using his wit and humor to bring Staghelm to his knees, and for rolling pugs with ease. Peebo, for leading his Gnomes into the battle. Decibus, for his valiant posts against the Staghelm server, and for teaching me to make cheese.

Lo to any of the other server forums that shall be struck by Detheroc's Mighty Troll's, for they shall strike hard and fast.

After the Staghelm forces were pushed back past their own fortifications, they called in their ally, Coreiel, the single female Blizz Poster (Mr. Blue), to save them from eminent doom. Coreiel, being vested with far more powers than she can comprehend, gave a first and final warning to all of Detheroc, giving two minutes to leave the forums. Detheroc, due to its stubbornness, decided to try and overtake their ally as well, only to have Coreiel accidentally use powers that even she did not know what could happen. Many a troll alike had their accounts temporarily suspended, their post removed and email's sent warning of further implications.

Detheroc-Staghelm War III[]

An entry from the journal of Fyodora

After inadvertently starting the second Detheroc-Staghelm war, I had thought that my rise to fame on the forums had seen its climax. It seems that fate had other plans for the future of my trolling, and the Detherocian forums.

Around January 20th, it was announced that rent would be collected from the Staghelmites on the first. I thought this to be a novel idea, but figured it would fade into forum obscurity.

I'm beginning to notice my foresight needs to be checked.

The eve before the battle was as normal as any. After a bit too much drinking, I had forgot of all my obligations to the cause. But fate, that cruel mistress, decided to send me to the forums, at precisely 00:03. Instantly my memory was jogged, and I donned my armor and rode forth.

The war raged on for about twelve hours, into the early morning, when blizzard employees must have finally arrived at the office. Opening their inbox's and seeing virtually thousands of reports about spamming on Staghelm, they quickly took mouse in hand and deleted all of the posts.

Disheartened, I began to sink my head and return to Detheroc. But, lo, the soldiers kept fighting! Raging on for another 5 hours, the Detherocian trolls continued posting! The forum mods had thought they had won, but their censorship's only fueled the fires in the hearts of the trolls. In a most epic moment, the trolls began posting faster than the posts could be deleted. In the meantime, a small faction of Staghelmites had attempted resistance attacks.

Becoming quickly frustrated with the persistent trolls, the mod squad sent down their banstick-wielding agent, Coreiel. Sensing a bluff, many trolls continued to fight, resulting in many temporary bans.

Let us honor here all involved in this epic battle:

Crown the self proclaimed Detheroc Interrogator made many many posts all with a sinister and malicious tone. At one point, he dropped a small boy dead in the street with an ice pick to the Face.

Decibus was totally uninvolved in this epic event in all ways, shapes and forms. True story.

Ghando went AFK to find his red hot jeans.

Mynian melted many brains, with his posting in the confusing style of many spam-emails, posting what looked to be Random nonsense, but actually had a serious thought behind each one.

Peebo led the symbolic first strike, and rallied the armies of trollregen.

Pyro took small but well placed attacks at weakened parts of the Staghelm defense, in the later stages of the assault. His slow ass was late to the front lines.

Reese took up mighty arms, and clashed wits with Coreiel herself.

Shamanatrix was striking with meticulously paced flurry of unique and "creative" posts.

Towner laid ruin to trolls of both sides, with his unreasonably long forum signature.

Please take a moment to honor these and all other trolls missing from the list, because Fyodora didn't take screenshots and no one else would add them...

The March 2007 Staghelm Invasion[]

At the strike of midnight EST on March 1st, 2007, in true Detheroc fashion, the Staghelm forums were again invaded. Call to arms were sounded by both Maevara and Pyro, and the front lines began to charge. Large threads were created, explaining various phenomena ranging from Detheroc superiority to the godliness of KMFDM. Random posts were copied and pasted from Detheroc boards into the battlefield at Staghelm, and even more random spam threads were created. The flood began quickly, catching all of Staghelm off-guard, as within an hour, the only posters on the realm were of Detheroc origins.

Leading the fight was Pyro, Shamanatrix, Reese, Maevara, Peebo, Gadar and many others.

Reaction was swift, and by 2:20 am that morning, the blue's had responded by deleting all new posts created by Detherocians.

IN the fallout of the invasion, many bans were doled out, even to trolls who did not spam or pick fights on the forums, but who only posted on a Detheroc toon on the Staghelm forums. Among the banned: Pyro/Towner(Permanent: Spamming and Trolling) Shamanatrix (Permanent: Spamming and Trolling) who would later verbally threaten Blizzard Customer Support for days until his account came back. Dargot/Gadar (Permanent: Spamming and Harrasment) Maevara (Temporary: Spamming and Trolling[72 hours]) more when news becomes available.

Clearly, another resounding victory for Detheroc as all these trolls have found new homes/new accounts to dominate from.

Major Classic Guilds[]

Initially the PvE war raged between Redemption [A] and Valen [H] for server firsts, while Offense [A], JSG [H], and BEP BOP [H] stuck to PvP. Valen claimed almost every PvE sever first until Offense downed Ragnaros a week quicker than Valen, and their PvE accomplishments continued from there. All these guilds, save Vae Victim, Suffer, and Cthulhu Dawn disbanded and many players either quit or rerolled.

Detheroc was opened to transfers from Sargeras, and many of these larger guilds transfered over. This created a Native vs. Transfer debate that still goes on, but not with the fury from the initial time. The major pre-transfer guilds include Cthulhu Dawn, Brazen, Offense, Redemption, JSG, Suffer, Vae Victum and Valen.

There are currently 20 guilds that have cleared all of Molten Core and Blackwing Lair. On the Alliance side, the guilds are Imperial Order, Phoenix, High Guarde, Armed and Dangerous, Templar, Order of Thrones, Hell and Back, Empíre, Lucidity, New Generation, Noctis Invictus, and Enigma. The Horde guilds are T K T, End Guys, Cthulhu Dawn, Plagued, Suffer, S E V E N, Vae Victum and A S Y L U M. Many of these guilds were formed or transferred from Sargeras.

Obvious Assassin was a large horde guild that was beginning to make progress in Naxx, however they broke up soon following a merge with another large horde guild, Dust to Dust.

Besides the guilds that are farming Blackwing Lair There are several other raiding guilds that have accomplished much in Molten Core, Onyxia, and most of Blackwing's Lair.

Sargeras to Detheroc[]

Back on Sargeras, a young gnome named Sadadar decided that he wanted to beat World of Warcraft. He enlisted the aid of several basement gangstas in his quest for power. This group formed into the now infamous guild, Divine Vigilance. They had a fierce rivalry with Boreas the Jew and his Horde guild, Obvious Assassins. Every week, the two guilds would boast about a new boss kill in Molten Core until finally, DV downed Ragnaros and gained recognition as the most elite guild on Sargeras. When Ecir, the GM of Imperial Order, heard about this, he quickly mass recruited and formed a giant zerg to overtake DV.

Drama escalated between Divine Vigilance and Imperial Order. In a mad bid to suppress this surge of epeen, Boreas summoned the mighty god, Raptor Jesus. Groggy and hungover during his awakening, Raptor Jesus screwed up while trying to stop the epeen madness and instead created a giant rift in the time/space continuum. A large part of the population was slowly sucked into this vortex and arrived in the mysterious pseudo-alternate realm known as Detheroc. Sadly, Divine Vigilance was not affected by this storm and is still on Sargeras. The few people who witnessed all the drama still honor DV, because without DV, Detheroc would not exist.

Clash of Identities[]

There was a paradox during the transfer from Sargeras to Detheroc. A being couldn't exist twice at the same time in the same dimension. Thus, many people were reborn with a new moniker. Homer became Homey, Trystan became Trystin. Robishush became Robnaros. Ecir became Rice. Vier became Reiv. Cession became Unsurreal. Lenlalron became Bloodslaughter... for about four hours. Incidentally, the Turgy of this realm is a woman.

The Natives and the Transfer[]

The rift of the Raptor Jesus allowing Sargeras members to move to the new realm Detheroc caused much turmoil with the Native Detherocians. Much hatred was spewed at the new members as they changed the ways of life for the Natives. Luckily with leaders such as Boreas, the new comers were able to resist these taunts of hatred with their Epic Lewt. The Sargeras new comers established a new order. With a sight of Ahn'Qiraj, the Natives looked to these new found gods for insight, sadly they themselves looked to Imperial Order for guidance.

Team Hunter[]

The natives of Detheroc are unaware, but heroes walk among them. These heroes strive endlessly, day and night, to bring about justice and fairness, all for the sake of such. These heroes are the ones known as... Team Hunter.

The Rise of Team Hunter[]

No one knows much about Team Hunter, or its enigmatic leader, Lenlalron, also known as the Silver Tiger. But those who oppose Team Hunter quickly find out their first and only lesson: That when you wrong Team Hunter, Team Hunter Ashjre'thuls you in the face. And it hurts.

Enemies know who to fear: They fear Gilandune, the Blazing Mustang. Gryf, the Waddling Duck, strikes terror into their hearts. Morale sinks when Rhius, the Razor Viper, arrives. Opponents cower in fear as Mojrn, the Rabid Elk rides into battle. And last of all, Perk, the Eager Hawk, has a very intimidating roar of bestial fury!

And, to make matters worse, there are two mysterious foes, waiting in the shadows lest they be needed: Maravilla, the Deadly Flower, and Crescent, the Black Lightning.

But worst of all, is Chyrus, the Impervious Armadillo. No enemy can best him, for he is unbestable. There have been no recorded defeats of Team Hunter, nor will there ever be.

How will Team Hunter (Phoenix Division) affect the race for Ahn'Qiraj? What cards do the Hunters have in this epic battle? Will Dragonstalker's Leggings ever drop for Phoenix?

DISCLAIMER: Team Hunter is a rogue unit and Phoenix holds no responsibilities for their actions. They are only allowed on raids because there is much pity for Lenlaron's mental handicap.

Pally Rangers[]

There is only one force that stands in the way of Team Hunter...the Mighty Hearthin' Pally Rangers! Led by Garnett, the vicious spitter of ultimate reckoning, they strive to make life miserable for Team Hunter. Robnaros poses a great threat with his big orange hammer, Sulfuras. Brokenfacee and Haaris prove deadly with high spell power and their Lok'amirs. Murtox and Aemaeth round out the team with divine conviction. Their cheerleader, Satheron, supports them from the sidelines with her zesty charms and high spirits. When the Pally Rangers and Team Hunter clash...whose side will you be on?

Shalebot[]

Also worth mentioning is the now-defunct Shalebot. While the Shalebot was a formidable Hunter in his prime, he was best known for "Hi, I'm Shalebot" and using only melee abilities and Blind against opponents. (Blind would be later identified as Scatter-Shot) There was supposedly some consensus that Shalebot was never worthy of Team Hunter due to his melee tendencies. Whatever the case, Shalebot imparted his wisdom and legacy to his fellow Hunters and faded into the mists of time.

Team Hunter's Biography[]

Team Hunter is the brainchild of a hunter named Lenlalron. Team Hunter is dedicated to the power of the hunter and to all things awesome.

The power of team hunter lies in the forming up. When called for, all hunters present shout their team hunter moniker, then the caller shouts something dramatic and gives the command to roll out, where we do whatever is needed to be totally awesome.

Recruitment is open, but it is by invite only. You do not need to be a hunter, but you must be dedicated to the ways of the hunter.

The Fall of Team Hunter[]

With patch 2.0.6, and Blizzard having temporarily quelled in-game problems, it was time to turn their single, fiery eye to the forums.

In one fell swoop, they updated all avatars, but also cast a powerful spell, preventing level one alts, specifically Herb Mains, from posting. The silver tiger, Lenlalron, would not take this lying down, and as we speak is amassing his own Burning Crusade, to fight this injustice.

Will he prevail? Or will he, and the rest of Team Hunter, simply fall into forum mediocrity?

The Return of Team Hunter[]

After the destruction of The Fourth Seal, Lenlalron the Silver Tiger was left stripped of his guild and the majoity of his comrades, but he was not defeated. No, when the Leader of Team Hunter is knocked down, he gets right back up again! Along with Rhius the Razor Viper, and Aidie the Proud Moose, Lenlalron joined NI.

It was there that he made new comrades, and sought to rebuild Team Hunter. New to the ranks are Darios, the Steel Jaguar (and also, it was decided, Lenlalron from the past, or else Lenlalron is Darios from the future, the point is moot because some temporal paradox has deposited a past and future version of the same person into NI), and Teien, the Growling Tigress! Together, they face all their obstacles.

Turg the Chosen One[]

A young nightelf hero named Turgy attempted to unite the factions of Azeroth and gather several ancient artifacts to prevent Judgement Day. He murdered Sadadar during his travels and when DV heard of this, they sent a group of assassins to get revenge. This caused many difficulties for Turgy and during one epic battle, his good friend and guild leader Trystan was killed. The wave of anger and grief that resulted overwhelmed Turgy and he miraculously reached the coveted level 61. Turgy is the only known WoW player to have ever reached this level.

The Race to Ahn'Qiraj[]

An alliance guild, the Imperial Order, were the first to create the Sceptor of the Shifting Sands, held by their Champion Nimic on February 18th, 2006. In an amazing show of Detheroc's trolls, problems occurred when a (later admitted joke) post by Unsurreal (an IO member) emerged on the Detheroc official forums stating that Imperial Order was holding the sceptor hostage and refused to open the gates unless the realm paid 5000 gold. The thread was deleted after reaching over 50 pages with dozens of posts both in support and in disgust of IO. A second thread was later created admitting it was all a scheme and the gates would open when IO originally scheduled it. The gates were finally opened February 21st, 2006 at around 3:45 pm ET

The Ahn'Qiraj Sceptor Original Ransom Note by Unsurreal[]

It's obvious that the responsibility of opening these gates lies soley on us, Imperial Order. We are not ignorant to the notion that without our champion Nimic ringing the gong, it would take a lot longer than anyone had intended for the gate to open.

How much longer remains to be seen, maybe as long as TKT or Phoenix grind carapaces? I don't know their plans, so it may be even longer than that.

So why not now? This is a common and valid question. The gates CAN be opened now, but we're not going to.

Why not? The most natural and unhelpful answer is that we choose not to. It won't happen today, it won't happen tomorrow, after maitenence, and it probably won't happen the day after that.

So when? We can't answer that, for the answer lies within all of you. We do want to see this new content, but we also have many other plans in mind. Like any guild, we like being notorious, remembered.

No one remembers the fair and quietly intelligent people they meet in their daily lives, but everyone remembers those who ruin their day.

We have plenty of time to conquer this new content, but for now we see endless novelty in holding it hostage. And this is what we will continue to do: Hold it hostage.

So now the gates truly lie in your hands. In order to open the gate, we are demanding 5,000 gold. Please send it to Aqransom, one of our banks, and we will tally up the money. Once we gain this money we will open the gates.

If you are horde, use the neutral bank to transfer your money. We don't want to have to pay the bank cut.

We would apologize for this great injustice on the server, but I personally feel it would fall on deaf ears.

So get farming. The next step in this new content is purely up to you.

The Fourth Seal experiment[]

At the onset of the expansion, The Burning Crusade, Nu from Phoenix merged his guild with Imperial Order to create a super guild, first named Punch and Pie, then soon after re-named The Fourth Seal. The goal of TFS was to dominate Alliance PvE progression and achieve (perhaps) world firsts. Unfortunately, the best that TFS was able to accomplish before disbanding was the server first kill of Hydross the Unstable. TFS is a memory now, and often the butt of many unkind jokes, especially from Detheroc Horde guilds. Incidentally, many of the players in TFS quit the game or transferred servers. This is why TFS takes the original blame for Detheroc Alliance progression being slower than the Horde side.

The Fall of Vier[]

Shennin: Vier, Did you get my package?

Vier: ...Yea.

Shennin: Well good.

Ghando: Shennin?

Zkar: Whoever it is, hes not reading like a Paladin.

Shennin: Surprised to see me?

Vier: No.

Shennin: Then your aware of it?

Vier: Of what?

Shennin: Our...connection. I dont fully understand how it happened, perhaps some part of you chain stunned me, something feared or poly'd. It is at this point irrelevant. What matters is that whatever happened, happened for a reason.

Vier: And what reason is that?

Shennin: I Hammer of Wrath'd you Vier, I watched you die, with a certain satisfaction I might add. And then something happened. Something that I knew was impossible but it happened anyway. You PVP'd me Vier. Afterwords I knew the rules, understood what I was supposed to do but I didnt. I couldn't. I was compelled to stay, compelled to camp your corpse all day. And now here I stand because of you Vier. Because of you im no longer an officer of DV, because of you I've changed, im unplugged! A new man so to speak, like you apparently free.

Vier: Congratulations.

Shennin: Thank you. But as you well know, appearances can be decieving which brings me back to the reason why we're here. Were not here because were free, we are here because we are not free. There is no escaping reason, no denying PVP, because as you well know without PVP, we would not exist.

Shennin #2: It is PVP that created us.

Shennin #3: It is PVP that connects us.

Shennin #4: It is PVP that pulls us.

Shennin #5: It is PVP that guides us.

Shennin #6: It is PVP that drives us.

Shennin #7: It is PVP that defines us.

Shennin #8: It is PVP that binds us.

Shennin: We are here because of you Vier, we are here to take from you what you tried to take from us. PVP.

After a climactic PVP battle where Shennin shield/hearthed and killed Vier using Hammer of GG, he absorbed his soul and took his Sulfuras.
