Elune

Elune Forum

Elune is one of the handful of realms that opened on release date. Although not quite as popular as other realms, it has had its share of spotlight moments. Altera Vita(e) was the most prominent raiding guild on the realm since the beginning, and continued that into The Burning Crusade. Just Crusade also made a name for itself in being one of the first 10 Alliance guilds to down Viscidus in AQ40.

One of the largest drawbacks of this realm remains its imbalance. While the Horde:Alliance ratio plagues nearly all realms, Elune is one of the worst (according to Warcraft Realms census). This is clearly visible when you play on this realm. Since the inception of paid transfers and the collapse of many high-end Horde guilds, many people have left the Horde. Nevertheless, Elune remains a great realm full of unique people and always something new to talk about. Any Horde player looking to join Elune and its ranks is highly encouraged to do so.

Guilds

Some of the following information may be out of date as guilds merge, disband, and are created on a daily basis. Perhaps the most current out-of-game resource for guild populations is the Warcraft Realms Census. For more recent guild progression, please take a look at WowJutsu.com loot-based progression tables.

Elune in general

In spite of being a release-day server, Elune's PvE progression is something less than impressive, and has had a continuing problem keeping Horde guilds together and functional enough to progress in content. Player activity is still relatively high, and even low-level areas can still see enough traffic for viable game play.

Drama on Elune

One of Elune's largest claims to infamy comes from the multitude of forum drama (of which 90% is instigated by members of Sick/RIP co), a few examples of which are located below:

Bane/Arysa Scandal

In early 2006 the most prominent horde guild, Elegy, and alliance guild Altera Vita both shared the same server host for their guild forums. One of the Elegy members was also the forum host, and had access to administrator features for both guild's forums. After some snooping, said administrator discovered that two Altera Vita members were using the phpbb forum instant messaging system to have "cyber sex," discuss each other's sexual wishes, as well as talk about their real life sexual encounters with each other. Logs of the conversations between the two were circulated amongst Elegy members to amuse themselves, but following the disband of Elegy as a raiding guild, several ex-members released the logs to other Elune players. The leak started in RIP Co (A Horde guild) and circled around as a rumor until it was made public by Lorlai of R I P co. Lorlai, Repsac, and others all received forum bans due to threads being nuked, then reposting it. Rainblood of R I P co immortalized the debacle as a YTMND that outlined their relationship. See the original YTMND After the relationship went public, Bane and Arysa were harassed and ridiculed about the subject and remains a hot topic even to this day.

Not so delighted was Gnomicus, who before the great coup d'etat of 2006, led Altera Vita (now Altera Vitae), and he is rumored to have removed both Bane and Arysa for their extracurricular activities.

Bane was considered among the most notorious personalities on the realm for his snide comments in the alliance's "highinstance" channel as well as elitist remarks he made on the official realm forums. Combined with Arysa's longtime relationship with Altera Vita priest "Laes," this became arguably the most well-known drama to ever take place on the server. Laes quit soon after (and has recently returned to playing), Bane joined Failure and Arysa has switched mains and now raids in Apex.

Midnight Cartel

Midnight Cartel have been performing a lot of 'vandalism' to this page as of late. Removing entries that are truths due to the fact they don't want their guild members to find out what the officers are really like. Not only that, but they seem to think there's mass concern about people impersonating their non-important joke guild and their Officers are posting blocks of worthless text on a frequent basis.

They are also responsible for deleting all the juicy Karen drama.

Midnight Cartel Officers are reading member Private Messages on their Guild Forums. This is the truth, whether they will admit it or not and their guild members have the right to know about this severe invasion of privacy.

Karen

One particular incident involved a man who masqueraded as a young girl (and played a female night elf) until he was unmasked in Ventrilo. While not especially amusing or unusual, his vigorous defense of his behavior in the Elune forums was something to behold.

Kerrong

A ninja of a relatively common pedigree, until his hilarious and pathetically inept defense of himself on the Elune forums, which have been immortalized on YTMND:

http://kerrong.ytmnd.com/

He has since transferred to Server:Trollbane.

Butterbum

A former player of Just Crusade, Butterbum was known for her good looks and promiscuity. One day, while browzing through various pornographic websites, a real-life friend Pestbrook aka Hath found a video featuring a girl who looked strikingly similar to Butterbum. Being a member of Sick, Pestbrook aka Hath saw this video as a gold mine of drama so he quickly fowarded it to the rest of the guild. Soon after, another pornographic video featuring Butterbum was discovered as well as an account on a pornographic acting community revealing more Butterbum content. Realizing the potential of all this, Fanfare, a member of sick, took the liberty of posting all over the World of Warcraft forums linking various videos/pictures. Then he created two YTMNDs which became top-viewed due to a decisive spreading of threads on the WoW forums.

Because of the graphic details of the Butterbum content it cannot be posted on WoWwiki. However, if you wish to view either video or YTMND, please forward to Sick's forums and view the following thread: http://sickguild.com/viewtopic.php?t=46
