Appearance

Shorter than the average female Kal'dorei, Ara'vaelyn instead fits in with the average female Human, standing just shy of six feet. Her skin is a pale pink nearing peach, the markings on her face matching the emerald hair usually worn in a half bun, the ends trailing along her calves. Her body is curvaceous, the marking of a woman used to luxury or an easy life. She is by no means portly or large, but instead bears the curves of a mother.
Her robes of station are immaculate, not a thread out of place. They reflect an air of modesty, no alluring trace of skin to be seen. Should she be relaxing, her heavy robes are removed, replaced by a rather dirty shirt and pair of leggings that she wears simply to easily move about while she toys with her hobbies. It is these hobbies that keep her from showing her hands in public, especially if she is rushed. Instead, she tucks them into the sleeves of her robes.
She favors necklaces over rings, for a time wearing quite a few together around her neck. Now, she wears only a few neck ornaments. The most obvious of these is a brass-studded collar, with a simple silver tag on the front that reads: "If lost, please return to A.D.V." She has a tendency when nervous to play with the tag, the chiming metal seeming to calm her. Accompanying the collar is a small leather pouch hung from a rawhide tie around her neck. The pouch is normally tucked into her robes, and while it is not empty, she never removes whatever may be in there. Last, a pendant of emerald framed by gold weaving, no larger than the palm of her hand, rests against her chest. The emerald seems to swirl endlessly, the gold weaving almost drawing the viewers eye into the gem...

Personality

Ara'vaelyn has all the compassion and kindness of a mother. With a ready smile and open arms, she is easily befriended. Most may call her naive, but she has the almost annoying tendency to take a person at their word until proven different, a trait that has gotten her hurt many times before. Still, she looks on the world as a place for change, and growth. Despite her rank and age, she still has the belief that one is only as old as one acts, and as such, can be seen wading in rivers to catch frogs, or playing with toys with orphan children.

History

The second born of three girls, Faerion and Mianna Mistmeadow knew their identical triplet daughters would do great things. Early in life, all three of the children had the amber eyes that foretold greatness and promise in their own race. To this day, only Ara'vaelyn retains this, and only in the form of amber flecks in her silvery eyes. Born in Suramar, the children learned quickly from multiple teachers. Ara'vaelyn and her elder sister took quickly to the Hunt, while the youngest child frequently got on her father's nerves, determined to become a Druid. Eventually, this led to a physical falling out, where the youngest ran to Queen Azshara's court. Faerion, a fervent believer in Azshara's idiocy, commanded the entire family to forget the youngest child. The demand stung the two remaining children, the bond between sisters too valuable to break.

Time passed, and Ara'vaelyn began to engage in her own trips with her sister. There came a time when the two left home, unaware of the conflict that was boiling. They recieved a letter from their mother pleading for them not to return to the city, instead begging they flee far. Worried, the siblings rushed back home only to discover Illidan's treachery. The explosion that rocked their home and sent the city to the bottom of the sea became the catalyst for their own adventures. Sadly, Bae'naera was lost in The Sundering, Ara'vaelyn left an orphan to fend for herself.

And so she did. Heartbroken, but determined to survive, the Kal'dorei woman helped to rebuild some of their home, eventually aiding in the spell that enshrouded Kalimdor in mist. So it remained for thousands of years. During the time, Ara'vaelyn was forced on, the result living today as her first born, Arlyrien Mistmeadow. Whatever happened in those years, she rarely speaks of, merely stating that the events pushed her to the Priesthood, where she has remained for many years.

Immortal, Ara'vaelyn rose again in battle at the World Tree, her daughter beside her. Unbeknown to her, Bae'naera too was present at the event, and in fact fought side by side for a time. The lost sisters were reunited, but never realized it, so firm were they in their beliefs that they were alone. The three fought hard, and eventually gave their magic and immortality away to defeat Archimonde. Though all three survived the battle, they were divided as Ara'vaelyn became a wandering Priestess, her daughter finding solace elsewhere. Bae'naera was not heard from again until nearly five years later.

Now, all three are once again united, tied by the bonds of friendship and blood. It goes without saying that Bae'naera and Ara'vaelyn are truly ancient, rivaling even Tyrande in age.

Social Life

Second Family

  • Edenia Theredane. Less of a friend, and more of a sister, the human Paladin has been one of Ara'vaelyn's closest companions since they met three years ago. The woman has been an invaluable source of knowledge, and compassion in the Priestess' darkest times.
  • Sophye Liranelle. A Gnome girl of large smiles and small stature, Sophye has quickly made her way into Ara'vaelyn's heart. Sharing in the good and bad times, the Priestess admires the little Magess as much as, if not more than, Sophye admires Ara'vaelyn. Quick to smile and laugh, Ara'vaelyn is grateful for having found and befriended the Gnome.
  • Ireculb Demesne. Another Paladin of the Light, Ireculb is once again a sister to the Elven woman. More brooding and thoughtful than most of the family, it is Ireculb's innate ability to bring Ara'vaelyn back to the plane of reality that the Elf cherishes.
  • Maarg and Tharge Gnarlrock. The Dwarven brothers prove to be a constant source of laughter, be it Maarg and his companion Bob, or Tharge and his affections for Ara'vaelyn's sister. No matter what, the Priestess relies on the two heavily.

Relationships

Unmarried, the woman has a quite short romantic background. Married once to a Human Paladin named Clez, Ara'vaelyn found in the man compassion and love like no other. She bore him a child, who only now resides with his mother. Ara'vaelyn and Clez parted ways, and any mention of the man seems to be enough to send the woman into a thoughtful trance. The child, Sean "Eldrath" Mistmeadow, looks much like his father, and is still becoming used to the idea that he actually *has* a mother, having lived in the Stormwind Orphanage since the divorce. Later, she was wooed by her longtime love, Lazre Myst Avalon, and after a long courtship, they were to be married. The engagement was called off recently, though Ara'vaelyn bore him a son as well. Mikellan resides with his mother at her home.

Currently, she holds a relationship with a human male. The depth is not known to many, for all the world seeming as though she is a mere pet for his amusement. It is clear there is much more to it, seen only by those quick enough to catch the looks she tosses him. Many regard her as merely a mistress, due to the man's married status. Despite their words, she remains by his side when possible.
