Quel'Thalas from Warcraft III Undead Campaign
Quel'Thalas is an european PvE realm opened 06/01/06.
The name comes from the given name of the high elf lands in Lordaeron.
The SG incident
The SG incident ocurred on 17 October 2007 when Rokketakk, a member of the Horde guild Septima Gemina (SG), abused Pleistertje, a member of the Horde guild Club18dirty, in the Caverns of time : Opening the Dark Portal . (Black Morass) When the final boss emerged from the last portal Rokketakk, the tank, engaged the boss without waiting for the rest of the party, who were replenishing mana and health. Rokketakk died, and unleashed a torrent of abuse on Pleisterje the healer. This was unacceptable as it was Rokketakk's own fault and not the healer's, who had done a splendid job of healing throughout the instance. Kalkatine, mage DPS, decided to take it upon himself to exact justice from Rokketakk. However, when the Guild Master of Septima Gemina was contacted about the incident, Kalkatine himself (at that time playing an alt Lockerator) was subjected to even more abuse from Magicsweet. (SG GM) Kalkatine then opened a ticket about the incident but nothing came of it.
That triggered a campaign that lasted months.
Kalkatine demanded that Septima Gemina apologize to Pleistertje, but this fell on deaf ears. Left with no other options, Kalkatine took the campaign into the public realm, creating a series of Youtube videos in which he asked for an apology. None was forthcoming. Kalkatine also posted on Septima Gemina's forums in a vain effort to elicit an apology. The posts were deleted without comment, even though screenshots proving the abuse were posted on the Septima Gemina forum. Kalkatine also contacted Hanni-Mari Autere,a member of the Finnish band Loituma, asking for support. (Kalkatine used one of the band's songs in a video) Hanni-Mari's response did not help though as her grasp of the English language did not allow her to make a positive contribution.
The campaign spilled over onto the official World of Warcraft forums and led to several forum bans. Eventually, the pressure started to tell and an apology was offered on the official Quel'thalas forum. Justice was finally served after several months, and a clear message was sent that player abuse would not be tolerated.
Soon after, Septima Gemina came to an end, although it still exists as a small group. Septima Gemina reason that they created a new guild : QT Humpers for end game raiding and therefore did not 'need' Septima Gemina anymore but these claims have not been substantiated yet.
