Ravenholdt is the newest RP-PvP Realm as of December 14, 2006. This server is not to be mistaken for the European Ravenholdt server of the same name.

Community

Ravenholdt Wiki was created to further the role playing aspect on Ravenholdt. Here you can search for players by class or faction. Learn more about who they really are in the world of Azeroth and beyond.

The Stormwind Times ~Ravenholdt~, a Role-Players' newspaper was released officially on July 16, 2008 at midnight by the Eastern Time Zone. The newspaper has already published three editions.

The Ravenholdt RP Sanctum Created as a set of forums that are almost exclusively about role playing on Ravenholdt. Lots of ongoing scenes, backstories, and roleplay information.

RolePlayers

Ravenholdt is well known for it's dramatic boast in active 'house' and individual role playing. Role playing has been heavily influenced on this server on both Alliance, and horde side, while both still have their own individuality among the RP community. To this day, the role playing community continuously grows amongst the users of the server,

Tradeskills

Ravenholdt rare craftables and enchants can be found at Rare Craftables/Enchants.

History

Ravenholdt launched in December of 2006, and still reigns as the newest of the semi-controversial RP-PvP servers. Unlike its RP-PvP peers, Ravenholdt launched alongside several 'normal' PvP servers, and because of this, RH shrugged off a large portion of the 'LAWLREROLL' populace that has plagued other servers of this archtype. The result has been twofold:

First, and most importantly, Ravenholdt has remained relatively RP-based even after nearly a year of existence. It is both a safe and a true statement that no other server of the RP-PvP type can claim as much RP per capita. Whereas realms such as Emerald Dream or Lightninghoof could easily have the status of their RP communities be pronounced either 'dead' or, at best 'on life support,' RH is a burgeoning, RP haven. Much to the delight of the majority of it populace, RP on Ravenholdt is 'flourishing,' and it has mostly remained off the radar of the 'L337 Kiddies' who would seek to destroy it.

Second, for better or for worse, Ravenholdt has remained relatively small in terms of population. As of September 29, 2007, only five guilds Hordeside and two Alliance guilds had downed Gruul, and the large demi-god of the Ogres remains the high-end of endgame on Alliance side RH. Horde side has faired considerably better with their larger population.

This is a wonderful place for new RPers to settle, with friendly people and a diverse background.

Quirky Things of Note

It's at least of note that Ravenholdt, along with its healthy RP community, boasts a massive plaurality of 'House' guilds -- I.E. guilds that roleplay as a traditional, powerful family. This trend started almost immediately after launch, and now there are several dozen house-based guilds on RH, all of whom form a kind of 'community within a community' of hardcore roleplayers.

Also of note is the heavy, almost unbelievable dominance of the blood elf population. Because of Ravenholdt's launch window, many of the people who first rolled on the server prior to the launch of The Burning Crusade were already planning blood elf mains. A significant number of these people rolled temporary mains on the Horde, with the dual goal of meeting new friends, and farming enough gold and equipment to twink out their planned blood elf main when BC debuted. This has led to what many might deem an overpopulation of Horde paladins and warlocks, classes that, on many servers are in short supply, but on RH there are plenty of. There is, also, a natural shortage of warriors, a class that, again, most servers have too many of.

And finally, RH is one of only a handful of servers that has a population bubble that favors the Horde rather than the Alliance. The ratio is not extreme, but it is noticeable.
