Big Shots

The Alliance boasts some pretty famous people on the realm.

  • Lemartes, now hated by the large populace of Imperial veterans, helped found the Imperium (a group of guilds in alliance
that served different purposes). The Imperium eventually folded into his branch, The Imperial Guard, and ran very shortly
until Lemartes' arrogance caused it split it into pieces and all collapse. Lemartes' status is unknown, however, he is
believed to have moved to another realm.
  • Draik, Lemartes' friend yet bitter rival, split off the Imperial Dawn from the Imperial Guard because a controversey over *Birkoff.
  • Fiffet, a known gnome, is famous amongst the strongest of the horde; he is often mocked because his name sounds "girly".
  • Patricio, somewhat known human priest. He is famous for typing pre-80s music, using Latin and Spanish words on trade, and his
unforgettable wedding planning buisness. He had a small fortune from his numerous buisness schemes, and proffeted greatly from
the Imperial Guard's trade, which he had a large, secret part in. After the Imperium collapsed, he lost his money and is
reduced to small trade chat arguments. He over saw Greyfox's wedding.
  • Greyfox, possibly the most known human warlock in the whole realm. He is known for excellent PvP tactics and arrogant
putdowns. He occasionally drops back onto RH to mock his enemies he bested. He has been the victim of a many Chuck Norris
jokes.

History

The Ravenholdt Manor

Ravenholdt launched in December of 2006, and still reigns as the newest of the semi-controversial RP-PvP servers. Unlike its RP-PvP peers, Ravenholdt launched alongside several 'normal' PvP servers, and because of this, RH shrugged off a large portion of the 'LAWLREROLL' populace that has plagued other servers of this archtype. The result has been twofold:

First, and most importantly, Ravenholdt has remained relatively RP-based even after nearly a year of existence. It is both a safe and a true statement that no other server of the RP-PvP type can claim as much RP per capita. Whereas realms such as Emerald Dream or Lightninghoof could easily have the status of their RP communities be pronounced either 'dead' or, at best 'on life support,' RH is a burgeoning, RP haven. Much to the delight of the majority of it populace, RP on Ravenholdt is 'flourishing,' and it has mostly remained off the radar of the 'L337 Kiddies' who would seek to destroy it. However, many players fear that the RP population is declining as the ability to switch realms opened. The number of RP guilds has dwindled, and the RP bigshots' status are unkown. The Imperial Guard, one of the servers best known guilds, collapsed and is know seen scattered on many other realms. As of now, RH's RP is still large, but has just been diagnosed with a terminal disease, at least on the Alliance side.

Second, for better or for worse, Ravenholdt has remained relatively small in terms of population. As of September 29, 2007, only five guilds Hordeside and two Alliance guilds had downed Gruul, and the large demi-god of the Ogres remains the high-end of endgame on Alliance side RH. Horde side has faired considerably better with their larger population.

Quirky Things of Note

It's at least of note that Ravenholdt, along with its healthy RP community, boasts a massive plaurality of 'House' guilds -- I.E. guilds that roleplay as a traditional, powerful family. This trend started almost immediately after launch, and now there are several dozen house-based guilds on RH, all of whom form a kind of 'community within a community' of hardcore roleplayers.

Also of note is the heavy, almost unbelievable dominance of the Blood Elf population. Because of Ravenholdt's launch window, many of the people who first rolled on the server prior to the launch of The Burning Crusade were already planning Blood Elf mains. A significant number of these people rolled temporary mains on the Horde, with the dual goal of meeting new friends, and farming enough gold and equipment to twink out their planned Blood Elf main when BC debuted. This has led to what many might deem an overpopulation of Horde Paladins and Warlocks, classes that, on many servers are in short supply, but on RH there are plenty of. There is, also, a natural shortage of warriors, a class that, again, most servers have too many of.

And finally, RH is one of only a handful of servers that has a population bubble that favors the Horde rather than the Alliance. The ratio is not extreme, but it is noticeable.
