Description
A lean and lanky creature with smooth azure skin, Kazlin carries himself proud and tall (measuring about seven feet in height). He has short, upturned tusks and black eyes that, depending on his mood, seem to flash with an occasional violet light. He wears his green hair in the traditional topknot of the Island Trolls. His scent is musky and loamy like the deep jungle. Though he is older than most of his guild brethren, his youthful features belie his years. In his hunter's garb, Kazlin is rarely seen without his shadowcat Nafsi at his side. He also has recently taken up training as a shadow priest, with his ulitmate goal being to master the ways of the traditional Troll Shadow Hunter.
At most times, Kazlin is friendly and thoughtful. He is supportive of his fellow Trolls and hopes to help return his race to the vital force it was when the world was shaped millennia ago. He can be at once witty and wily, and has a great interest in all things involving Troll lore and tradition. Outside of the confines of civilization, he can slip into a more primal personality, in tune with his years spent in solitude, both at sea and in the "bakabush".
Goals and Motivations
Kazlin believes the Troll race has lost its way by being forced from its ancestral lands and by being made to serve others in war. Formerly, he cared more for the resurgence of his race than he did for the success of the Horde. More recently, he has come to understand that the two may be indivisible at this time. However, once the Humans, Gnomes, Dwarves, Night Elves, and Draeni are defeated, he will turn his wrath against the other adversaries of his race ... not matter who he perceives them to be.
Kazlin calls some Orcs friend, but others he believes to be manipulative oppressors. He respects the formidable Tauren (at least he can understand their mystical Earthmother as he does his own Troll Loa). He worries that the Forsaken will only visit misery upon the world, but he has begrudgingly come to accept their presence in the Horde for the time being. Like many Trolls, he despises the Blood Elves.
History
As an adolescent, Kazlin sailed the seas on a Troll merchant vessel and, later, as a slave aboard a human pirate ship. He was freed and left to fend for himself outside Sen'jin village, eventually being taken in by a family that believed him to be their own long-lost son (his "sister" Hel'caite was part of this adoptive family). Under the eye of his patron god Agwe, Soverign of the Seas, Kazlin befriended the Trolls Bendi and Tashtego and set out on his early adventures, eventually becoming a member and officer of The Darkspear guild. A series of mishaps, including the death of his two friends and his first mate, Rakshaa, led him to question his life's path.
And that's just for starters. A full history is in progress here.
