RP
Decent RP realm, with very friendly people if you find them. However, there are quite some "less" friendly people as well, as you always get one with the other when it comes to RP realms. Not as much random RP as in the very beginning of the realm birth, but recently there's been signs of it starting to pick up again. The best way to find RP would be to introduce yourself on the forums and join a RP guild, or if you want to fly solo for a while and still want some RP to spice things up, the best bet would be to use /e as often as you can while in main cities - without exaggerating of course.
If you don't appreciate the less accepted RP styles (vampire RP, dragon RP, exaggerated demon RP), you should probably not want to RP in Goldshire too often, as rumour has it that's the place where these people tend to converge.

PvP
Battlegrounds
As Scarshield Legion is a part of a very small Battleground group, you may experience a slightly longer wait time around certain times of the day, but there have been fewer and fewer complaints about this from realm inhabitants, marking it as either a less important problem or one that has gotten better over time. Just be prepared that it might take a bit longer.
Arenas
In the 2v2 arena, due to the small battlegroup and problems with match-making you're very likely to come across teams much higher and much better equipped than you.
PvE
Scarshield Legion have a few guilds that progress on a steady pace, the three foremost "End-Game" progressors being Echoes of Lordaeron of the Alliance and Aftermath and Lost of the Horde. Quite a lot of the RP guilds have also lately jumped on the PvE "End-Game" bandwagon, as the 10 man raids allows for smaller guilds to raid as well. Some have formed coalitions with other RP guilds to tackle the bigger raids in the future as well.

Alliance
- Northshire Brotherhood - RP/PVP/PVE Guild. Ask Not What The Holy Light Can Do For You, But What You Can Do For The Holy Light!
- Sangiovese Raiders - All italian guild, more than 100 pg, Sangiovese Raiders are a good mix of pvp, pve and rp. Funny and crazy people manage the group. No instance-stress, but endgame raiding is in progress.
- Murlocs of Flaming Steel - Small secretive guild formed to find justice and protect the Murloc kind from village raids and ultimately extinction. (RP-PvP)
- Andraste Cadifors - End game guild without the arrogance or stress of most raid guilds. Clearing karazhan, clearing Gruuls on farm status, and progressing slowly in instances like SSC, Maggy's lair and TK.
- Echoes of Lordaeron - Quite a large RP/PvE & some PvP guild. doing Endgames and succeeding slowly.Soon suceeding as one of the top PvE guild on the server.
- Equillibrium - Forming raiding guild, doing currently Karazhan runs and lvl 60 raids. Part of it is RP(trying get tier sets). Still in expansion and will mostly welcome all classes to join, less mages.
- Stormwind Militia - A Guild defending the kingdom of Stormwind and in general roleplaying local guards. Military based fulltime RP guild.
- Celestial Wrath - Dedicated RP guild.
- Circle of the Moon - Night Elf Druid only guild.
- The Crimson Eagle - Large Fulltime Dedicated RPPVP/PVE guild. Frequent PVP Events in Horde territory and RP events with some Endgame-PVE raids.
- Husaria Husaria - A Polish guild
- The Pirates Who Say Yarr - Very friendly and relaxed guild with no real focus but having fun.
- Sub Rosa - RP/PVE guild, does Endagame content.
- The Unholy Crusade - A small RP guild trying to aim for its own power and goals normally in a villainous manner. Also maintaining an RP rivalry with the Stormwind Militia
- The Sarmatian Knights The free army of Stormwind, the RP/PvP/PvE guild is dedicated to becoming the top militia of the Alliance faction. With anyone accepted, regardless of race, class or gender, their numbers are already countless.
- Malice A PvE guild that's end game without any stress, slowly growing and raiding. Here to be friendly and bring the fun and smiley side to raiding disbite our name :) Merged with Andraste Cadifors.
- cenarion serpents is a pvp guild we are large guild we are raiding a lot. our guild is very good join us!!.
- The Exiles is one of the longest running RP guilds on the server. A bunch of cut-throats and pirates, this band of misfits is lead by Arch Druid Hiddenshadow. They have recently begun exploring the dungeons of the outlands with some success.
- Avatars of Torment A PvE guild aiming to see as much high-end pve content as possible.
- Misfaction we are a RP-PvP guild lvl 20 plus only mains are allowed we are very pvp active. join us
- Astral Fire - A RP-PvP guild. Verry friendly and helpfull players. They have everyweek their own events and raids, RP events and PvP events. click here to join
- Brotherhood Of Naaru Newly Formed and Friendly PvE guild Recruiting members for endgame Instances. Everyones Welcome Level 30+.
Horde
- Warsong Blades - Military based fulltime RP guild - The elite warriors of the Warsong Clan.
- Chrysocracy - Light-RP/PvE/PvP/ guild. Lots of political in characters bashing
- The Greywolf Tribe - RP guild only for Taurens.
- Ether - RP guild for casual players starting from age of 18.
- Void - RP guild focused on the social side of the game (with a changing level cap) that promotes RP and guild advancement, questing togheter at all times. One for all and all for one.
- Aftermath - Leading Horde PVE guild.
- The Risen - Currently the largest Horde guild (level based) with endgame PVE/PVP.
- Ashen Order - Mixed race Dedicated RP guild.
- House of Sylvanas - The eyes and ears of Lady Sylvanas, made up of Forsaken and the occassional Blood elf. RP.
- Ferus - Casual guild with a variety of focuses in PvE, PvP, and RP. Pariah reformed.
- Thanatology - World-PvP and RP guild.
- Ostrze Hordy - A Polish guild, concentrating Polish players all over the realm. PvP and PvE guild.
- BlackGuard - PVE/PVP guild.
- Zénith - A PvE guild, built upon respect and helping others. This is now a successful guild. Currently at MH/BT level.
- Hård - All Swedish raiding guild with some focus on PvP and RP. A merger of former guilds DarkSunTrip and Nordic Alliance.
- Chaos Engines - PVE/PVP: Not much RP, although they do look after eachother. Was once a leveling guild but has grown in size and quality. Has about 220 members of many levels, very diverse. All are welcome above 20+. CE FTW baby. (we love surfa)
- Heritage of Zandalar - RP guild for trolls only.
- The Haven - PvE guild that has a few RPers. One of the oldest and best known guilds on the server, current raid progress is T4/early T5 content.
