RP
Decent RP realm, with very friendly people if you find them. However, there are quite some "less" friendly people as well, as you always get one with the other when it comes to RP realms. Not as much random RP as in the very beginning of the realm birth, but recently there's been signs of it starting to pick up again. The best way to find RP would be to introduce yourself on the forums and join a RP guild, or if you wanna fly solo for a while and still want some RP to spice things up, the best bet would be to use /e as often as you can while in main cities - without exaggerating of course.
If you don't appreciate the less accepted RP styles (vampire RP, dragon RP, exaggerated demon RP), you should probably not want to RP in Goldshire too often, as rumour has it that's the place where these people tend to converge.
A very friendly place once you get into the flow of things.

PvP
Battlegrounds
As Scarshield Legion is a part of a very small Battleground group, you may experience a slightly longer wait time around certain times of the day, but there have been fewer and fewer complaints about this from realm inhabitants, marking it as either a less important problem or one that has gotten better over time. Just be prepared that it might take a bit longer.
Arenas
Alot of wintraders in this battlegroup in the 2vs2, 3vs3 is decent but the 5vs5 has very poor players who bother to play.
PvE
Scarshield Legion have a few guilds that progress on a steady pace, the two foremost "End-Game" progressors being Defenders of Kalimdor of the Alliance and Illusion of the Horde. Quite a lot of the RP guilds have also lately jumped on the PvE "End-Game" bandwagon, as the 10 man raids allows for smaller guilds to raid as well. Some have formed coalitions with other RP guilds to tackle the bigger raids in the future as well.

Requiem - Transfer guild,Top three PvE guild on the server. Disbanded.
Ravencrest Wardens - Hardcore RP-PvP guild with elements of Endgame Raiding (Progressing through Karazhan). Disbanded
Andraste Cadifors - End game guild without the arrogance or stress of most raid guilds.
Adiuvo Amicus A Friendly RP/PvP/PvE Guild, Adiuvo Amicus means Helping/Aiding Friends in Latin. Founded by Zolgoroth (Guild Master) and McVitie. One of the largest guilds on the server. Disbanded.
Echoes of Lordaeron - Small RP/PvE guild. Bunch of adult noobs giving a serious attempt at endgame and strangely enough succeeding slowly. Keyword: if you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong, it is a game after all. (lvl 70 only, max 60 members)
The Demonic Covenant - All races/levels accepted, PvE/PvP, Ventrilo, strong trade skills, Guild alliances, raids, over 140 members.Disbanded
The Searing Hunters - All round guild (here to have fun).
The Darnassus Sentinels - Night Elf only guild. Reformed as Ravencrest Wardens under new leadership. Disbanded.
The Ironforge Guards - Dwarf only guild. Disbanded.
SI:25 (SI:XXV) - RP guild. All alliance races are accepted. Disbanded
Stormwind Militia - A Guild defending the kingdom of Stormwind and in general roleplaying local guards. Military based fulltime RP guild.
The Theramore Lancers - Human only guild.
The Bountyhunters - All round guild (PVP/PVE and minimal RP). Disbanded.
Martyrium - Previously the most advanced guild PVE guild on the alliance, formerly CARE. Disbanded.
Celestial Wrath - Dedicated RP guild.
Circle of the Moon - Night Elf Druid only guild.

Order of the Silver Lion Dedicated RP-PvP guild, with an aim to enter endgame PvE.Mostly gathering of hardcore Rpers who likes playing according to wow lore.Schedualed PvP and RP events. Disbanded.
The Sarmatian Knights The free army of Stormwind, the RP/PvP/PvE guild is dedicated to becoming the top militia of the Alliance faction. With anyone accepted, regardless of race, class or gender, their numbers are already countless.

The Exiles is one of the longest running RP guilds on the server. A bunch of cut-throats and pirates, this band of misfits is lead by Arch Druid Hiddenshadow. They have recently begun exploring the dungeons of the outlands with some success.

Cabal of Ruin Cabal of Ruin is an RP guild containing many of the kingdoms (IC) outcasts. The cabal are divided into four houses, each with their speciallity. The four houses are: Unholy (warlocks), Damned (scourge), Bloodshard raiders (pirates) and Black Rangers (rogues/thieves).
Schild en vriend A chill guild, meaning the members are free to RP/PVP or PVE. It's a belgian guild for dutch speaking belgian people. Growing guild, preparing itself for karazhan (together with a Greek guild called EKDIKHTES). They accept all lvls but prefer active players. Voor schild en vriend! (For shield and friend!).

Void - RP guild focused on the social side of the game (with a changing level cap) that promotes RP and guild advancement, questing togheter at all times. One for all and all for one.
Aftermath - Leading Horde PVE guild.
The Risen - Currently the largest Horde guild (level based) with endgame PVE/PVP.
Ashen Order - Mixed race Dedicated RP guild.
