Zegen Forestsong is a rogue and a druid who is a Dragonsworn of the Green dragonflight. He has allied himself with several factions in Northrend, including the Wyrmrest Accord and the Knights of the Ebon Blade to aid in the battle against the Scourge in Icecrown. While this is his primary goal, he will not hesitate to help his friends and guildmates.
Zegen was born to a family of druids who served as the green dragonflight's eyes and ears among the Kaldorei after the world tree Nordrassil was created. Believing that he was desinted for great things, his father started Zegen's druid training extremely early on. In his teenage years, Zegen ran off after thinking that being a druid was nothing but constant training. Soon after, he had learned how to stay in the shadows, learning the ways of the rogue, eventually becoming an assassin for hire. After the Third War, he had relocated from Kalimdor to the human lands around Stormwind, working for the SI:7.
After the Dark Portal opened, Zegen stayed behind for almost a year to help keep order in Azeroth while the most experienced adventurers assisted in holding back the demons trying to enter through the portal. After he decided Azeroth would be safe enough without his assistance, he entered the portal to the Outlands to help the armies of Azeroth. After a few weeks, he was assigned to help the Cenarion Expedition in Zangarmarsh, where he ran into his father, who tried to send Zegen back to Azeroth. After saving his father after the naga ambushed him during a survey, Zegen had determined that he wasn't wanted in Zangarmarsh and spent the rest of his time in the Outlands in Shattrath City and Nagrand.
He returned to Azeroth soon after the lich king had awoken and started attacking the Alliance and the Horde. Seeing that he had no choice but to help, he boarded one of the first boats to Northrend to aid in the Alliance's efforts to destroy the lich king's forces. On several occasions, he has been attacked by a night elf death knight who says that he is responsible for her current state.
